Sr. Hardware Engineer - Sunnyvale, CA

Job Description:

This role will be working within the Reality Labs organization which brings people around the world together through cutting edge, next generation Augmented, Mixed, and Virtual Reality. As a Sr. Hardware Engineer, your main function is to research, design, develop, test a variety of boards including rigid/flex and high-density for wearable electronics.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Working on Hardware board design in Allegro, board bring up and debugging of new technologies for Smart glass NTI team
  • Validation of hardware platform and feasibility of new technologies Working with CM for NTI hardware design reviews and issue debugging.
  • Tear down and competitive analysis of designs in the market to learn about different Smart glass implementations.
  • Review and approve plan layout, including creating new designs and modifications of existing designs.
  • Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulation.
  • Write detailed functional specifications and design flow/tradeoff.
  • Support new technology introduction.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to engineering staff and consult specifications to evaluate interface between hardware and software and operational and performance requirements of overall system.
  • Direct technicians, engineering designers or other technical support personnel as needed.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of professional experience within Hardware Engineering, prefer backgrounds in consumer electronics or similar industry experience
  • Strong knowledge within Electrical Engineering concepts/fundamentals
  • Experience with flex, rigid, and high density board design
  • Strong PCB design for low power devices
  • Prior experience in any of the following - sensors, wireless, low power devices, cameras, audio, displays, interfaces (USB, MIPI, PCIE, SPI, I2C)
  • Review and approve product prototypes, working models or theoretical models constructed with computer simulations
