DevOps Engineer - Remote
Job Summary:
We are seeking an DevOps Engineer to support large-scale network automation and operational tooling. In this role, you will partner closely with cross‑functional engineering and operations teams to improve reliability, reduce operational load, and scale automated recovery workflows across production environments. You will contribute hands-on to automation, tooling, and data-driven operational improvements that power mission‑critical network services. This role emphasizes strong coding fundamentals, operational excellence, and continuous improvement in high-availability systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain automation workflows that reduce alert volume, manual intervention, and mean time to recovery (MTTR)
- Identify, investigate, and troubleshoot system issues across distributed environments; drive root cause analysis and resolution
- Contribute code and bug fixes for network workflows, outage automation, carrier maintenance, and internal operational tooling
- Build and enhance automated recovery systems by:
- Prioritizing and correlating alert failures
- Aggregating failures into consolidated reporting for cross‑functional partner consumption
- Improving visibility across environments (Pre‑Prod vs Prod, power, AI Ops, etc.)
- Support production systems and contribute to on‑call readiness, including tooling planning and operational handoff
- Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify tooling, process, or communication gaps and drive scalable solutions
- Support data analytics and reporting by tagging, categorizing, and grouping automated vs. manual recovery incidents
- Provide ongoing ownership feedback to tooling teams to improve system reliability and operator experience
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in backend software engineering, DevOps, or production engineering environments
- Strong proficiency in Python scripting
- Strong experience with SQL for data querying, analysis, and reporting
- Experience with automation and workflow orchestration
- Familiarity with DevOps practices including: Version control (Git), Containers, Code testing, and Continuous integration and delivery
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, diagnose problems, and implement solutions in production systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience or understanding of networking concepts, including routing, switching, and core TCP/IP protocols
- Exposure to large‑scale infrastructure or distributed systems
- Experience supporting production systems or participating in on‑call rotations
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams

- Hourly Pay: $60.00-$85.00 per hour
- Work Hours: Monday-Friday / 40 hours per week
