Impact
As a Senior Counterparty Credit Risk Associate, you will play a crucial role in managing and mitigating credit risks associated with counterparties across FalconX. Your expertise will help ensure the firm's financial stability and operational resilience by safeguarding against potential credit exposures from counterparties.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategies to manage firm-wide counterparty credit risks effectively by collaborating with trading, finance, and other relevant teams.
- Conduct comprehensive counterparty due diligence, write credit assessments, determine counterparty credit ratings, assign risk appetite limits, identify potential vulnerabilities and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Monitor and analyze counterparty credit metrics and exposures to ensure adequate risk management under various market conditions.
- Develop and implement credit risk metrics and monitoring tools to assess the firm's exposure to counterparties, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Perform stress testing and scenario analysis to evaluate the firm's resilience to adverse credit conditions and potential worst-case scenarios related to counterparty credit.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks in counterparty credit management, providing actionable insights to inform risk management strategies.
- Prepare detailed credit risk reports for senior management, highlighting key counterparty exposures, trends, and performance metrics.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal risk policies, particularly those affecting counterparty credit risk management, and update practices accordingly.
- Identify opportunities to enhance credit risk management processes, including automation of risk assessment and reporting procedures, and implement internal controls to safeguard against operational risks.
- Continuously update your knowledge of credit risk management practices, financial instruments, and technologies related to counterparty credit.
Success
As the Risk Manager, Counterparty Credit, you will contribute to building robust in-house capabilities for counterparty credit risk management, streamlining processes, and ensuring real-time, accurate risk information is available to all stakeholders. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field, with 5-7+ years of experience in risk management, focusing on counterparty credit risk.
- Experience working in a financial institution or financial services start-up.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
- Self-motivated, with great initiative and the ability to work independently.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts clearly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a Counterparty Credit Risk or Hedge Fund Credit Risk role
- Experience with credit risk management tools and software.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R, with a focus on financial modeling and analysis.
- Prior experience in the cryptocurrency market is advantageous but not required.
Compensation
Base pay for this role is expected to be between $123,000 - $145,000 USD for New York City. This expected base pay range is based on information at the time this post was generated. This role will also be eligible for other forms of compensation such as a performance-linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation for a successful candidate will be determined based on a number of factors such as location, skillset, experience, and qualifications.
