Role Overview
As a Custody Operations Associate, you will be the guardian of the firm's most critical assets. This isn't a "back-office" clerical role; it is a high-stakes operational position. You will ensure the flawless execution of digital asset movements, maintain the integrity of our custody records, and continuously optimize the workflows in accordance with MAS requirements in respect to safeguarding. . In the world of digital assets, mistakes are immutable. This role eliminates operational risk by uncompromising security protocols. You solve the challenge of scaling complex, multi-party transaction workflows without sacrificing speed or safety.
Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of our custody services: Ensure seamless functioning of custody operations by managing daily tasks efficiently.
- Assist trade operations and other cross-functional teams: Collaborate to ensure smooth and efficient execution of transactions, client services, and maintaining the integrity of custody records including MAS requirements in respect to daily reconciliation procedures.
- Transaction support and client verification: Conduct ID verification and wallet whitelisting to adhere to established security protocols, ensuring compliance and safeguarding client assets, escalating any non compliance in a timely manner to the Singapore compliance team.
- Token movement management: Oversee the secure transfer of tokens, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all token movements.
- Key management: Implement robust key management practices to protect digital assets, including the generation, storage, and rotation of cryptographic keys.
- Account reconciliation: Perform daily account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency in financial records, identifying discrepancies and resolving them promptly noting any matters are escalated to Compliance and senior management.
- Client enquiries: Address client inquiries related to custody services, providing timely and accurate information to enhance and maintain client satisfaction.
- Engineering and application enhancement: Work closely with engineering teams to identify opportunities for application enhancements that improve operational efficiency and service delivery.
- Client interactions: Foster strong relationships with clients through regular communication and personalized service, understanding their needs and addressing any concerns.
- Management reporting: Generate comprehensive reports to support daily custody operations and provide insights into performance metrics.
- Development of KPIs, KPI tracking, reporting, and operational procedures: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational success, track progress, and report findings to management. Develop and refine operational procedures to optimize processes.
- Interaction with regulators: Engage with regulatory bodies, answering inquiries and assisting with audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Requirements :
- 5+ years of relevant experience in a trading firm, hedge fund or investment Bank or similar financial institution.
- Crypto Assets experience is preferred
- Demonstrated experience supporting institutional clients or complex, high value clients in a regulated financial environment.
- Solid understanding of financial products and basic custody processes.
- Superb self-management skills - you love organizing your work with the help of checklists and measuring your progress.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive attitude.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Desire to become an expert on digital assets such as Bitcoin and Ethereum.
- SOCII documentation experience is a plus.
