Head of Workplace Services
We are looking for a Head of Workplace Services in our People Team.

We are looking for a Head of Workplace Services to join our People Team. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for the management and evolution of our flagship London headquarters. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, you will lead a small, high-impact team—including our highly valued Workplace Experience Manager, who is the "go-to" for the business on a daily basis. You will also oversee our essential onsite contractor teams, including catering staff and our housekeeper and porter. You will act as the bridge between our physical space and our hybrid-first culture, ensuring our office remains a premier destination for over 700 Circlers and growing!

The role
Strategic Workplace Leadership
  • Evolve a workplace strategy that aligns with our hybrid work policy and high-growth culture.
  • Lead office redesign projects to support our workforce as we continue to evolve our London headquarters.Act as a key stakeholder in Real Estate strategy, managing lease negotiations and landlord relationships.
  • Manage and mentor the Workplace Experience Manager, recognising their integral role in daily operations and business-wide reputation.
  • Act as an Ambassador for at least one of our employee resource groups (e.g. LGBTQIA+, Heritage, Neurodiversity, or Women at Funding Circle).
Operations & Facilities Management
  • Oversee all hard and soft facilities services, maintaining high standards for maintenance, security, cleaning, catering, and front-of-house.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations and Fire Safety standards.
  • Manage and optimise an annual multi-million pound budget of approximately £4M—comprising £1.5M in rent and £2.5M across facilities, employee amenities, and office operations & services.
  • Act as the primary stakeholder for building management and maintenance teams, ensuring landlord service delivery meets our operational needs.
  • Organise and manage the training and coordination of our First Aiders, Fire Wardens, and Mental Health First Aiders.
  • Use and leverage workplace ticketing systems to drive operational efficiency and data-driven decision-making.
Employee Experience & Culture
  • Treat "Workplace" as a product; use data and employee feedback to iterate on office design and amenities.
  • Partner with the People and IT teams to ensure a frictionless physical and digital experience for Circlers when working in and away from the office.
  • Curate large-scale offsite events alongside onsite events and initiatives that drive community and social cohesion, aligning with our values.
  • Lead our ergonomic support programme, ensuring the delivery of DSE (Display Screen Equipment) assessments and appropriate setups for all Circlers.
Sustainability & ESG
  • Drive our "Green Office" initiatives, focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable procurement.
  • Monitor and report on the carbon footprint of our physical estate.
  • Partner with the ESG team and co-tenants within our building to champion carbon neutrality goals and implement collective sustainable solutions.
What we’re looking for
  • 8+ years in Workplace Management or Facilities Leadership, ideally within a fast-paced tech, creative, or professional services environment.
  • Familiarity with hybrid working cultures and making the office a ‘destination’.
  • Deep knowledge of the London commercial real estate market and local vendor networks.
  • Proven track record of delivering office fit-outs or large-scale change management projects on time and under budget.
  • Experience leveraging workplace technology to enhance and advance the employee experience.
