About The Role
G2 is looking for a standout Product Manager to drive organic discovery and buyer experience for the G2 and GetApp platforms. This role sits at the intersection of product, SEO, and AEO (Answer Engine Optimization), owning the roadmap that ensures G2 and GetApp are prominently surfaced across traditional search engines and AI-powered answer engines alike. You will partner tightly with Technical SEO and Content Creation teams to build the best-in-class buyer experience that generates sustainable organic traffic and maximizes platform visibility.
In This Role, You Will:

Roadmap & Strategy:
Own the AEO & SEO product roadmap for G2 and GetApp platforms. Synthesize technical SEO requirements, AI search engine behavior, content strategy priorities, and buyer experience goals into a prioritized, impact-driven roadmap aligned to G2's organic growth OKRs.
AEO (Answer Engine Optimization):
Lead product strategy for AI-powered search visibility — including structured data, schema markup, entity optimization, and content formats that help G2 and GetApp surfaces appear in AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, etc.).
Monitor AEO performance signals and translate insights into product requirements that improve citation rates and brand presence in answer engines.
SEO Product Strategy:
Define and drive SEO-informed product improvements — including site architecture, indexability, Core Web Vitals, URL structures, internal linking, and page templates — in close collaboration with the Technical SEO team.
Partner with Content Creation to ensure product surfaces (category pages, product profiles, comparison pages, buyer guides) are structured and optimized for organic discovery.
Buyer Experience:
Champion buyer experience as a traffic driver — designing product flows, landing pages, and content surfaces that convert organic visitors into engaged buyers while also earning higher search rankings.
Identify friction points in the organic-to-conversion journey and prioritize product improvements that simultaneously improve UX and SEO signals.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Serve as the primary product partner for the Technical SEO team, translating crawl data, ranking signals, and site health requirements into engineering-ready requirements.
Work hand-in-hand with Content Creation teams on editorial and programmatic content strategy, ensuring content investments are backed by product-level structure that amplifies SEO impact.
Collaborate with Engineering and Design to ship product changes on time with clear success metrics.
Analytics & Testing:
Define and track KPIs for organic traffic, keyword rankings, AEO citation rates, and buyer engagement metrics using tools such as Google Search Console, Amplitude, Looker, and SEO analytics platforms.
Design and run experiments (A/B tests, page template variations, structured data implementations) with closed-loop reporting.
Communication & Stakeholder Management:
Own and communicate the AEO/SEO product roadmap and priorities to internal stakeholders in written and oral formats.
Serve as the product expert on organic discovery — fielding questions from Marketing, Sales, Leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Minimum Qualifications:

4 - 8 years of product management experience, ideally with a focus on SEO, content platforms, or organic growth in a B2B or SaaS context.
Solid understanding of SEO fundamentals: technical SEO, on-page optimization, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and search engine crawl behavior.
Familiarity with AEO concepts and the evolving landscape of AI-powered search (Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data to make and defend product decisions.
Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration — especially bridging technical teams (engineering, SEO) and content/editorial teams.
Experience working in agile environments and shipping product at pace with limited direction.
Ability to translate business goals and user needs into clear, actionable product requirements.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; able to present complex trade-offs clearly to senior stakeholders.
Working knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Amplitude, Looker, and/or SEO platforms (e.g., Semrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working on marketplace, review, or software comparison platforms (B2B software market experience a strong plus).
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
Experience working in a global team spanning multiple time zones.
Exposure to programmatic SEO strategies and content-at-scale approaches.
Experience collaborating with or within teams across G2, GetApp, Capterra, or Software Advice ecosystems.
