Engineering at Gametime

You will be a key contributor to the Engineering team responsible for building and maintaining the client-side applications and backend systems that power the Gametime experience for millions of users. We empower engineers to take full ownership of their code and foster a culture grounded in testing, code reviews, observability, experimentation, and operational excellence. The Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join the Core E-Commerce Platform team. This team is responsible for the technology and systems that power the Payment, Fraud, and Account Management domains of the Gametime marketplace, spanning backend services and user-facing web and mobile applications.

This is a senior individual contributor (IC3) position for engineers who demonstrate strong technical ownership, contribute to key projects across the stack, and support engineering excellence through thoughtful implementation and collaboration. You will work closely with Engineering, Product, Design, Data, and business stakeholders to shape the future of our platform end-to-end.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement high-performance Golang microservices for e-commerce checkout, account management, and fraud mitigation.
  • Build and maintain user-facing features across web and mobile clients using React and React Native, in close collaboration with Product and Design.
  • Take ownership of full stack components and features, ensuring reliability, scalability, maintainability, and a high-quality user experience.
  • Develop, test, monitor, and maintain critical integrations and infrastructure.
  • Design and support robust internal and external APIs with high throughput and low latency requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with user and business goals.
  • Participate in code reviews, share knowledge with teammates, and uphold engineering best practices across frontend and backend codebases.
  • Drive projects from implementation to production deployment with a focus on quality, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in system performance, observability, CI/CD workflows, and developer experience.
  • Explore and help implement AI-powered capabilities within our systems and workflows, including agentic tools and intelligent automation.
  • Support a collaborative, inclusive engineering culture through thoughtful communication and continuous improvement.

Key Competencies:

  • Full Stack Development: Experience building end-to-end features spanning frontend, backend, and APIs.
  • AI Fluency: Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude, ChatGPT) or contributing to AI-powered systems is a plus.
  • Backend Development: Proficiency in building reliable backend systems using Golang (or Python, Ruby, Java, C++, C#, Rust, Scala, etc.).
  • Frontend Development: Strong experience with React and familiarity building production web applications.
  • Mobile Development: Experience with React Native or native mobile development concepts, with an understanding of performance and platform constraints.
  • System Design: Experience developing distributed systems with a focus on performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • API Development: Capable of designing and maintaining well-structured internal and external APIs.
  • Working Familiarity With: OIDC Authentication (Google, Apple SSO), e-commerce fraud prevention, and payment service provider integrations (e.g., Stripe).
  • Cloud Infrastructure: Familiarity with AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Event-Driven Systems: Experience working with messaging systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar.
  • Databases: Solid experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL technologies (e.g., MongoDB, DynamoDB).
  • Team Collaboration: Works effectively with cross-functional partners and shares knowledge through code reviews and discussion.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years in software engineering.

At Gametime pay ranges are subject to change and assigned to a job based on specific market median of similar jobs according to 3rd party salary benchmark surveys. Individual pay within that range can vary for several reasons including skills/capabilities, experience, and available budget.

$187,000$220,000 USD
