About the role

Gamma doesn't have a legal operations function yet. You'll build it. As our first dedicated legal ops hire, you'll report to the Head of Legal and own the systems, processes, and tooling for a legal team that's scaling fast.

Gamma has over 70 million users, is profitable with $100M+ ARR, and is pushing hard into enterprise. That means a rapidly growing volume of commercial contracts, vendor agreements, privacy workflows, and compliance requests— all of which need infrastructure behind them. This is a ground-up build role. You'll assess what we need, select and implement the right tools, and create the workflows that let our lawyers focus on substantive legal work instead of administrative overhead.

Our team has a strong in-office culture and works in person 4–5 days per week in San Francisco. We love working together to stay creative and connected, with flexibility to work from home when focus matters most.

What you'll do

  • Evaluate, select, and implement a CLM platform, then design and own the legal intake and triage process, contract template library, clause bank, and self-serve resources that enable Sales and other teams to move faster with less legal touch

  • Own the legal tech stack end to end: selection, implementation, configuration, training, and ongoing optimization, including knowledge management systems for executed agreements, approved positions, and precedent language

  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive legal workflows (NDAs, standard vendor agreements, routine approvals) and implement solutions

  • Implement and manage Gamma's privacy program under attorney supervision, including data subject requests, privacy documentation, vendor privacy assessments, DPA negotiations, and cross-functional compliance initiatives

  • Track deal flow, turnaround times, and bottlenecks, and build reporting and dashboards that give leadership visibility into legal workload, spend, and operational metrics

  • As the legal team grows, help define roles, onboarding processes, and operational standards for new hires

What you'll bring

  • 5+ years of legal operations experience, with at least 2 years in-house at a technology or SaaS company

  • Demonstrated experience building legal ops infrastructure from early stage: you've selected and implemented a CLM (Ironclad, DocuSign CLM, Juro, or similar), built intake workflows, and stood up reporting

  • Strong technical fluency with the ability to evaluate legal tech tools and configure workflows, and experience managing contract lifecycle processes across both customer and vendor agreements

  • Working familiarity with privacy compliance operations including DPA tracking, subprocessor management, and DSR workflows

  • Project management discipline: you can run multiple concurrent workstreams, hit deadlines, and hold cross-functional stakeholders accountable

  • A bias toward building systems over doing things manually

  • Experience at a company navigating the consumer-to-enterprise transition, familiarity with SOC 2 audit processes and security compliance coordination, or exposure to AI-related compliance workflows (Nice to have)

Compensation range:

The base salary for this full-time position, which spans multiple internal levels depending on qualifications, ranges between $150K - $210K plus benefits & equity.

Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to experience and expertise in the requirements listed above.

If you're interested in this role but you don't meet every requirement, we encourage you to apply anyway! We're always excited about meeting great people.
