Job Description
Govini is seeking a Director of Business Value Engineering, responsible for quantifying and articulating the value Govini's Ark platform delivers to our customers. This individual serves as a strategic advisor both internally and externally, partnering with Sales, Engagement, Product, Marketing, and Government Relations teams to develop compelling ROI cases, while engaging directly with customers as a trusted consultant on value realization. The role requires a blend of consulting acumen, business process analysis, and data-driven storytelling to ensure customer value insights shape Govini's strategies, messaging, and execution. This role is critical to operationalizing our value-first strategy. The ideal candidate will combine analytical rigor with strategic communication skills to help Govini win business and deliver exceptional value to our national security and federal customers. They will be the architect of ROI for their account team, ensuring that both Govini and our customers have a clear understanding of the value derived from our partnership. This role will report to the Director of Business Operations.
This role will be based in our Arlington, VA office.
Scope of Responsibilities
- Partner with account team members and customers to identify key performance metrics and baseline processes.
- Conduct detailed business value assessments and ROI analyses demonstrating how Ark addresses customer pain points and delivers quantifiable improvements (e.g. cost savings, efficiency gains, performance improvement, risk reduction).
- Serve as a strategic consultant in executive meetings and workshops with customers.
- Present ROI findings and business case justifications to Govini’s most important customer stakeholders (including senior government officials), effectively communicating the business impact of Ark in the context of the customer’s mission and goals.
- Work hand-in-hand with Sales and Engagement teams to integrate value engineering into the sales cycle. This includes supporting the creation of value-centric white papers & proposals, customizing pitch decks with customer-specific value metrics, answering RFPs/RFIs with quantified benefits, and helping overcome objections by providing data-driven evidence of Ark’s impact.
- Develop and refine BVE frameworks, tools, and templates (such as ROI calculators, benefit models, and value storytelling playbooks).
- Establish best practices documentation and contribute to a BVE Center of Excellence, enabling replication of successful value engineering approaches across all account teams.
- Work with Engagement teams and Product Marketing to track actual outcomes for Govini’s highest value implementations. Compare realized benefits against initial projections, and prepare reports/case studies that demonstrate the delivered value over time. Use these insights to update and improve future ROI models.
- Mentor account team members in value engineering techniques and foster a value-driven mindset.
- Lead internal training sessions to teach consultants and sales reps how to identify value opportunities and utilize BVE tools. Act as an evangelist for value-based selling and customer success within the organization.
Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required
- Bachelor's Degree is required.
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of experience in management consulting, value engineering, or business analysis roles.
- Proven track record of leading strategic engagements that involved analyzing business processes and quantifying financial/operational improvements.
- Must have domain expertise within the Department of War, whether gained through military service, civilian government roles, or defense consulting/contracting.
- Possess deep understanding of business process engineering and the ability to quickly grasp how Govini’s Ark software platform can integrate into a customer’s workflows.
- Able to identify inefficiencies or capability gaps and translate them into monetary values or performance metrics.
- Strong data analysis and financial modeling skills. Proficient in handling large datasets and using analytical tools (e.g. Excel, BI software, statistical methods) to derive insights.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
- Demonstrable briefing senior leaders across the Department of War, including general officers, SES civilians, and program executives, and leading discussions with internal leadership.
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and build relationships across different teams (sales, product, finance, etc.).
Desired Skills:
- MBA or relevant master’s degree preferred (with concentration in business, engineering, or data analytics).
- Professional certifications or training in value engineering, process improvement (Lean/Six Sigma), or financial analysis are advantageous.
- Familiarity with defense budgeting processes, PPBE cycles, and program office decision frameworks is highly valued.
