Job Summary:

The Destination Manager is responsible for managing and enhancing our travel product offerings for specific destinations. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with local suppliers, ensuring product quality, and driving destination sales.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Development: Curate and expand destination-specific travel packages and experiences, ensuring a diverse and competitive product range.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscapes for assigned destinations, utilizing this data for product enhancements.
  • Supplier Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with local suppliers, including hotels, tour operators, and transportation providers. Develop new partner relationships to bring fresh products into the portfolio. Maintain up-to-date and accurate supplier databases.
  • Negotiation: Negotiate contracts, rates, offers, margins, inventory, and other commercial terms with suppliers to secure the best value for the company and its clients.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and ensure the quality and consistency of all products and services offered in the destination.
  • Reporting: Generate regular reports on partner and supplier satisfaction surveys, destination sales, margin reports, market conditions, and other ad hoc analyses as needed.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the sales team to provide product training, destination insights, and support for B2B partners.
  • Customer Experience: Address and resolve any issues or complaints related to the destination products to ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Internal Coordination: Coordinate with multiple departments—sales, marketing, product, and operations teams—and serve as the single point of contact for any queries/issues related to the destinations being handled.
  • Operational Improvements: Resolve day-to-day problems such as accounting, invoicing, content changes, and notifications. Identify, prioritize, and drive operational improvements.
  • Industry Events: Attend tradeshows, partner briefings, and individual account visits to review information and processes with existing partners, develop promotional ideas, and collaborate with the supply team to cultivate new supply relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Tourism, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in destination management or travel product development.
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing relationships.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail with good analytical skills.
