This is a high impact opportunity for a software engineer to help develop one of the most critical domains in Airbnb. As a senior member of the team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our next generation products globally and work to integrate it with other ongoing Tech 2.0 initiatives. You will also have opportunities to work with stakeholders.

Your day-to-day responsibilities includes:
- Join a talented group of engineers, work with senior and staff engineers closely on high impact technical initiatives to keep Airbnb business scalable, performant and reliable.
- Work with cross functional partners including product managers, designers, policy, legal and operation partners to design and deliver high-quality products
- Build great relationships between Airbnb and governments, which is critical to companies in the sharing economy.
- Drive development with next generation technologies, to build efficient and reusable web components and architect reliable, performant, and scalable solutions
- Optimize user experience of product to extend Airbnb’s core functionality and improve existing features and build new features for a web-based application
- Help set up and lead working group sessions, collaborate on current and upcoming projects including proposal and design doc reviews, roadmap planning, etc.
Your Expertise:
- 5+ years industry experience
- Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
- Passion and quick on learning. Strong communication skill is a must. Demonstrated design and UX sensibilities
- Experience building in large web applications using Javascript/Typescript/Java/Kotlin. Fluency in HTML, CSS, and related web technologies (e.g. React, graphql)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, data stores, data modeling, indexing and associated trade-offs. Familiarity with Elasticsearch and the streaming is a plus.

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager.
