Building a team starts with valuing the team. We hire the best of the best to ensure you’re working with people you can constantly learn from. You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces in 2023.

We also value sports. Not just because of the big wins and highlight-worthy plays, but because of the lasting impact sports can have: the lifelong lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring mentors; the priceless opportunities to play at the next level. Sports can change lives—that’s what we value.

Our team helps the world see sports differently through products that make it easier to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and do a lot more.

Your Role

We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team of engineers and/or engineering managers within a specific division or group of products. This role requires a high level of strategic thinking, technical leadership, and management expertise to drive our mission forward.

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Hudl, you will:

  • Lead Division-Level Strategy: Shape and drive the strategy for your division, ensuring alignment with Hudl’s overall vision. Your strategic insights will help set the direction for multiple teams and ensure we stay ahead in the market.
  • Manage and Develop Leaders: Foster a strong management culture by leading and mentoring Engineering Managers. You’ll be responsible for developing leadership capabilities, promoting best practices, and ensuring high performance across your division.
  • Collaborate Across Disciplines: Work closely with leaders from various disciplines to plan and deliver enhancements across your product suite. Your ability to integrate diverse perspectives will be key to driving innovation and ensuring our products meet the highest standards.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Serve as a technical leader, guiding your teams in the development of robust, scalable solutions on the cloud. Your deep technical knowledge will be crucial in solving complex challenges and driving engineering excellence.
  • Champion Agile Practices: Participate actively in high-level planning and Scrum ceremonies, playing a significant role in maintaining a strong team culture. You will build and lead a diverse and high-performing roster, driving Hudl’s mission forward.

We'd like to hire someone for this role who lives near our offices in Lincoln, Omaha or Lexington, but we're also open to remote candidates in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin, Dallas or Phoenix.

  • Have extensive experience in cloud technology and building highly scalable software solutions. You should have a proven track record of designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud-based systems that can scale efficiently and handle large volumes of data.
  • Demonstrate a track record of driving technical strategy and leading engineering efforts. You will have experience in setting technical direction and guiding your teams towards successful project outcomes, ensuring alignment with the company’s strategic goals.
  • Possess strong managerial experience. You must have a background in leading engineering teams and managers, with skills in career coaching, performance management, and fostering a strong management culture.
  • Exhibit excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Your ability to articulate ideas clearly and work effectively with various stakeholders will be crucial in driving cross-functional projects and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment. You will champion diversity and inclusion within your teams, creating a workplace where all team members feel valued and empowered to contribute.

  • Professional background in relevant technologies. Experience with C#, React, React-Native, MongoDB, and AWS is a plus. Familiarity with adjacent languages, frameworks, and services used at scale is also valuable.
  • Experience in product partnership. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with Product Managers to shape and solidify the team’s roadmap will be an asset.

Our Role

  • Champion work-life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time, company-wide holidays and timeout (meeting-free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
  • Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
  • Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
  • Provide an environment to help you succeed. We've invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
  • Support your mental and physical health. We care about our employees’ wellbeing. Our Employee Assistance Program, employee resource groups and fitness partner Peerfit have you covered.
  • Cover your medical insurance. We have multiple plans to pick from to ensure you’ll have the coverage you (and your dependents) want, including vision, dental, fertility healthcare and family forming benefits.
  • Contribute to your 401(K). Yep, that’s free money. We’ll match up to 4% of your own contribution.
