BILL is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale our Spend and Expense software solutions. If you are passionate about building great products, excited about solving real-world customer issues, enjoy mentoring all types of engineers, and are interested in working on challenging problems on a daily basis, this is the job for you!

This individual will be a member of the Travel and Entertainment team and will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable products for the BILL’s Spend and Expense area. Proven experience in leading, scoping, designing and implementing end-to-end software solutions is a must.

Travel and Entertainment Team:

This team will be responsible for building event driven api and integrated 3rd party solutions with some of the largest travel and entertainment businesses in the world. They will be responsible for automating our current reimbursements product. This team will innovate and collaborate with most of our core areas, with transactions, spend, budgets, and payments.

We’d love to chat if you have:

  • BS in Computer Science or related area
  • 5+ years developing systems/software for large business environment platforms on Java
  • Experience implementing complex distributed systems and robust, highly scalable, and performant SaaS applications
  • Experience with AWS: ECS, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, S3, Lambda, EventBridge, OpenSearch, etc
  • Experience with database design for SQL (Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (DynamoDB)
  • Experience working on large scale high volume / high availability transactional systems
  • Nice to have experience in RabbitMQ, Redis, ElasticSearch, REST APIs
  • Excellent teamwork and communication, ability to work across multiple feature teams and product managers

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. Zone 2- CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area), Austin TX, Massachusetts
$132,200$174,411 USD
Zone 3 -Utah (includes Utah office), Houston TX (office), Florida, North Carolina
$124,900$164,740 USD
