About the Role


We are seeking dedicated and certified Special Education Itinerant Teachers (SEITs) to join our growing team. As a SEIT, you will provide individualized, one-on-one instruction and support to preschool children (ages 3–5) with disabilities in their homes, community settings, or general education classrooms through the CPSE (Committee on Preschool Special Education) program.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, individualized instruction to preschool children based on their IEP (Individualized Education Program).
  • Support children’s learning, social-emotional, and behavioral development in inclusive and/or home settings.
  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and related service providers to ensure consistency of strategies.
  • Document student progress and maintain compliance with NYC DOE and NYSED requirements.
  • Communicate regularly with families and supervisors to support children’s success.

Qualifications

  • NYS Certification in Special Education or Students with Disabilities (Birth–Grade 2).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Passion for helping children grow and succeed.
