Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and visionary SEO Director to join our team. This pivotal role will be responsible for steering our SEO strategy across all of Klaviyo’s digital properties, driving significant organic growth, and ensuring our digital presence is optimized globally. The SEO Director will collaborate with various departments and stakeholders, demonstrating leadership and expertise in SEO to propel our business objectives forward.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Architect and execute a comprehensive, enterprise-level SEO strategy that aligns with the company’s broader digital marketing goals and business objectives.
- Oversee SEO initiatives and influence the content team across all web properties, ensuring a cohesive, scalable, and innovative approach.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with senior leaders in marketing, content, product, engineering, Customer Success, and UX/UI to embed SEO best practices into all digital initiatives. Lead global SEO efforts, customizing strategies to suit different markets and regions, ensuring cultural and linguistic relevance.
- Performance Analysis and Reporting: Define and monitor key SEO performance metrics, providing regular, detailed reports to executive leadership. Leverage advanced analytics tools to assess and optimize SEO performance, translating data into actionable insights.
- Technical SEO: Direct technical SEO audits and initiatives, ensuring our websites are primed for optimal crawling, indexing, and ranking. Stay at the forefront of SEO technologies and algorithm changes, adapting strategies to maintain competitive advantage.
- Content Strategy: Guide the content teams in crafting an SEO-optimized content strategy that drives organic traffic and enhances user engagement. Identify and fill content gaps, providing strategic direction for content creation and optimization across our main website, help center, academy and other sites as needed.
- Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of SEO professionals (currently 1 headcount), fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Provide advanced training and support to cross-functional teams to deepen their understanding of SEO principles and practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Computer Science, or a related field; an MBA or Master’s degree is highly preferred.
- 12+ years of progressive SEO experience, with a proven track record of driving organic growth for large, complex websites.
- Extensive experience in the SaaS, subscription or technology sector is highly desirable.
- Expertise in using advanced SEO tools and platforms (e.g., Brightedge, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush).
- Strong technical acumen, including proficiency in HTML, CSS, structured data markup, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
- Superior analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data, generate insights, and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proven experience in building and leading high-performing teams.
The pay range for this role is listed below. Sales roles are also eligible for variable compensation and hourly non-exempt roles are eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.
