Lightspeed is looking for a full time Senior Test Developer to join our Actionable Insights team in our Belfast office. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for ensuring software quality through continuous involvement in our Software processes. You will use your experience in test planning and execution in an agile environment, paired with strong technical, troubleshooting, and analytical skills. What you’ll be responsible for:

• Work within the software development team to maintain high level of product quality
• Actively participate in software requirements definition, providing feedback, time estimates and identifying areas of risk
• Perform baseline data quality monitoring to proactively identify data quality issues.
• Embedding the quality and testing mindset within the data pipelines and processes
• Research, gather and organize tests around data
• Recommend innovative ideas to automate to reduce manual effort and increase the coverage of data validation and verification
• Collaborate with software developers and customer support engineers to identify, document and resolve data and product defects and issues
• Report to the test automation lead and have frequent interactions with developers, quality specialists, product managers.
• Contribute to the ongoing efforts to refine and improve company's test methodologies, software development processes, and internal testing tools
• Act as an advocate for highest code quality and ownership, while contributing to the health of our infrastructure

What you’ll be bringing to the team:

• Experience developing automated test scripts in any programming language (preferably Typescript, Python, Java or Javascript).
• A strong understanding of data quality concepts, methodologies, and best practices.
• Track record of showing excellent judgment in test planning, issue escalation and release decisions
• Familiarity with data ingestion, ETL process (Dataflow), data governance and MDM.
• Expertise with SQL.
• Experience with cloud computing technologies.
• Professional working experience version control systems
• Solid experience with E2E Testing tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium), API automation, and Web technologies in general (HTTP, REST, JSON)
• Track record of showing excellent judgment in test planning, issue escalation, and release decisions.

Even better if you have, but not necessary:

• Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent knowledge
• Previous experience as a QA Engineer within a Data team with in-depth experience testing large scale data systems, data lakes and data warehouses
• Understanding of data structures, relational databases, and data modeling concepts.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker etc.).
• Experience with GCP data stack (Bigquery, Looker, Looker Studio)
• Knowledge of NoSQL databases (mongoDB).
• Hands-on experience with scalability, performance, and load testing of cloud-based systems.
• Experience with payment processing systems.
• Experience with cloud-based technologies and tools (Google Cloud, AWS, Dockers, and Kubernetes).
