Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋

Are you actively looking for a new opportunity? Or just checking the market? Well… you might just be in the right place!

We’re looking for a Senior Mobile Developer (React Native) to join our team in Sydney. As an essential part of our innovative team, you will help create a cutting-edge mobile app designed to streamline restaurant operations and boost guest experiences. This app will give restaurant managers real-time insights, improve efficiency, and support better decision-making, playing a major role in advancing Lightspeed's mission to enhance commerce for our merchants and their customers. You will be consistently contributing meaningful features, improvements, and bug fixes to ensure continuous project progress and value addition. The ideal candidate for this role deeply understands and prioritises the needs of end-users, ensuring the product delivers exceptional value with high code quality with no critical defects in production.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop and implement features for an exciting new mobile app for hospitality operators, making a real difference for thousands of restaurant managers and staff each week.
  • Create proof of concepts and prototypes, integrate GenAI, and develop a scalable, testable, and maintainable app ready for production.
  • Provide strategic technical advice, helping to integrate the latest technologies and best practices in mobile development, and influencing cross-functional teams and the organisation.
  • Help upskill other developers through mentoring, pair programming, team stand-ups, planning sessions, new feature kick-offs, and demo sessions, fostering a collaborative and productive team environment.
  • Collaborate closely with the Design team to ensure great User Experience (UX), and work with QA, Support, and other cross-functional teams to quickly diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Translate requirements into detailed plans and provide solid estimates for how long things will take.

What you need to bring:

We're looking for a candidate who has experience with the following:

  • Extensive experience developing and shipping production-ready React Native and TypeScript apps for Android or iOS.
  • Prior experience developing and debugging native iOS apps using XCode and Swift, or Android apps with Java/Kotlin and Android Studio.
  • Deep understanding of mobile app architectures and connectivity considerations.
  • Demonstrated experience creating unit and automated UI tests using tools like Jest, Mocha, Playwright, Detox, Appium, or Maestro.
  • Knowledgeable about the release/build/deployment process, including navigating App Store and Play Store requirements and challenges.

We know that people are more than what’s on their CV. If you’re unsure that you have the right profile for the role... hit the ‘Apply’ button and give it a try!
