Specialist, Talent Systems & Insights
Lightspeed
Hi there! Thanks for stopping by 👋
Are you actively looking for a new opportunity, or just exploring the market? Either way, you might have just found your next adventure.
The Specialist, Talent Systems & Insights serves as a key technical and strategic partner responsible for supporting, maintaining, and continuously enhancing the Workday platform to ensure it operates efficiently and meets evolving business needs. This role works closely with functional teams and stakeholders to configure and optimize business processes, manage system updates, troubleshoot issues, and deploy new features that support operations for a global workforce while delivering a seamless, intuitive user experience.
In addition, the Specialist contributes to the successful execution of projects and initiatives by providing subject matter expertise, identifying process improvement opportunities, and ensuring solutions are aligned with Workday best practices, business objectives, and end-user needs.
What you'll be doing:
- System Maintenance & Optimization: Serve as the subject matter expert for key Workday modules (e.g: HCM, Compensation and Benefits); manage business process configurations, security settings and system enhancements
- Integration Management: Interest in supporting and maintaining data integrations between Workday and downstream systems, ensuring seamless data flow and troubleshooting connectivity or logic issues.
- Stakeholder Management: Partner with different stakeholders (People Business Partner, Payroll, IT, IS, Finance) to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions using best practices.
- Release Management: Participate in Workday’s bi-annual updates, identifying new features that drive value and conducting impact analysis on existing configurations.
- Issue Resolution: Perform advanced root cause analysis for complex system errors, implementing sustainable fixes rather than temporary workarounds.
- Project Leadership: Manage the end-to-end project lifecycle for system initiatives - from initial discovery and requirements gathering to UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and deployment.
- Documentation: Maintain functional documentation, including requirements documents, functional specifications, and business process documentation.
- Compliance: Maintain SOX audit controls, follow security protocols and ensure functionality deployed is following local regulations by partnering with Legal and/or People Business Partners
- Data Strategy & Reporting: Develop advanced reports and dashboards to provide actionable insights, while ensuring rigorous data validation and audit compliance.
- Knowledge Sharing: Provide technical guidance to Analysts, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and high-quality system standards.
What you need to bring:
- 4+ years of experience working with Workday - advanced Workday expertise translating into deep hands-on experience on Workday’s architecture, core business processes, and security configuration.
- Experienced at maintaining, supporting and troubleshooting Workday integrations (Integration reports, outbound EIB’s or integration events)
- Demonstrated experience leading complex system projects (ideally at a global scale).
- Deep knowledge of configuring custom reports and handling large data sets
- Understanding of HR programs (Recruitment, Performance, Compensation) and how they intersect with technology.
- Skillful at managing stakeholders and able to influence decisions for the benefit of the organization
- As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
Even better if you have, but not necessary:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Statistics, Data Science, or any combination of training and experience relevant to the role
- HCM Workday Certification
- Experience building integrations (RaaS, API connectors or Workday Studio)
- HR systems implementation experience
