As the Team Lead, Quality Specialist, you will reinforce quality standards across Lightspeed’s Information Systems and Quality Assurance departments. You’’ be responsible for leading a dedicated team of quality specialists, cultivating an inclusive environment that inspires your team to do their best work. Working alongside product managers, developers, and architects, you will ensure a quality evolution of our internal tools, supporting evolving business processes.
What you’ll be doing:
- Team Leadership: Provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, and motivation to a team of Quality Specialists, ensuring work is effectively planned, prioritized, and delivered on time. You’ll track workloads, remove blockers, and maintain a high bar for quality and accountability.
- Agile Integration: Act as a core member of an Agile software development team, contributing test estimates, identifying risks early, and validating new features during each iteration to support reliable, on-time releases.
- Collaboration: Collaborate closely with Software Engineers, Technical Support, Architects, Product, and Engineering leaders to identify, triage, and resolve system defects, while aligning on technical priorities and delivery goals.
- Testing Strategy:Define, maintain, and execute comprehensive manual and automated test coverage for internal platforms (such as Salesforce and NetSuite) and cloud-based systems, ensuring changes meet functional, integration, and performance expectations.
- Process Improvement: Actively contribute to improving testing methodologies, software development processes, and internal quality tools, advocating for best practices and scalable approaches as the organization grows.
- Performance & Optimization: Identify performance bottlenecks, recommend and implement optimizations, and lead scalability and load testing efforts to ensure systems remain reliable under real-world usage.
- People Development: Support the growth of your team through regular feedback, career development planning, hiring and onboarding, and ongoing coaching, fostering a culture of learning, ownership, and continuous improvement.
What you need to bring:
- Proven Quality Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading Quality Specialists or QA Engineers through the successful delivery of software projects, setting clear quality standards and driving accountability across the team.
- Strong Technical Testing Foundation: 2+ years of hands-on testing experience, with a focus on automated test design, execution, and ongoing maintenance of test scripts to support scalable, reliable releases.
- Salesforce Testing Expertise: Proven experience planning, executing, and leading testing efforts on the Salesforce platform, including validating customizations, integrations, and platform updates.
- Comprehensive Testing Skills: Strong experience across functional, integration, and REST-style API testing, leveraging tools such as Postman to ensure system reliability and data integrity.
- Agile & Continuous Delivery Experience: Solid understanding of Agile development methodologies, continuous delivery best practices, and collaborative requirements definition within cross-functional teams.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented Mindset: Excellent problem-solving skills, paired with natural curiosity and a high level of attention to detail when identifying risks and defects.
- Sound Judgment & Decision-Making: A proven track record of exercising strong judgment in test planning, issue prioritization and escalation, and release readiness decisions.
- Highly Organized & Dependable: Ability to break down complex epics into actionable tasks and effectively manage multiple initiatives while meeting tight deadlines.
- Growth-Oriented & Collaborative: Open to feedback, eager to learn new tools and technologies, and confident in constructively challenging or defending technical design decisions when needed.
- As a global company with employees and clients outside of Quebec, fluency in English as a working language is required for this position.
