Purpose of the role

Your mission is to put Lightspeed Hospitality on the map across Germany and the UK. You won't just be managing channels; you’ll be the person who launches our Instagram presence in Germany and builds our voice on LinkedIn and YouTube. You are a "story scout" for the hospitality industry, reaching out to amazing restaurants and hotels to tell their stories, while acting as the brand gatekeeper to ensure everything we post is premium and impactful.

Our joint mission

Lightspeed empowers the businesses at the heart of our communities, from standout retailers to unforgettable restaurants to renowned golf courses. We are a global team who fuel ambitions with technology and insight.

From online and in-person operations to multichannel sales, payments, inventory management and data-driven insights, Lightspeed helps businesses grow, deliver exceptional customer experiences and run smarter across all channels and locations. Join our driven, diverse and inclusive team to find your people, accelerate your career and create tangible solutions that help local businesses thrive.

What you’ll be doing

  • The Launch Lead: You will own the strategy and launch of our Instagram channel in Germany, while managing and growing our presence on LinkedIn and YouTube across Germany and the UK.
  • Hospitality Storytelling: You’ll proactively reach out to our Hospitality clients to find unique stories. You’ll lead the creative ideation and present your vision to the team to ensure we are telling authentic, "scroll-stopping" stories about the people behind the businesses.
  • Brand Gatekeeping: You are the final filter for our organic social channels in your region. You decide what meets our quality standards, ensuring our feeds remain premium and strategic.
  • Content Production: You’ll work closely with our internal teams to brief high-quality assets and be hands-on with short-form video production, ensuring every post feels native to the platform.
  • Community Engagement: You’ll be the voice of Lightspeed for our German and English-speaking audiences, answering comments, starting conversations, and ensuring our followers feel supported.
  • Workflow Management: You’ll keep the engine running by using Monday.com to track timelines and Jira to manage creative deliverables.
  • Performance Insights: You’ll use Hootsuite and Meta Business Suite to monitor how our content is performing and share your recommendations with the team.

What "kicking ass" looks like

  • A Successful Launch: The German Instagram channel has launched smoothly and is already seeing high engagement from the local hospitality community.
  • Compelling Client Stories: You’ve found and shared genuine stories from restaurants and hotels that people actually enjoy watching and sharing.
  • A Focused Feed: Our German feed looks professional and intentional because you’ve successfully filtered out the noise.
  • Seamless Coordination: Our internal creative teams love working with you because your briefs are clear and your project boards are always up to date.

Experience

  • The Foundation: You have 3+ years of experience in social media management, ideally within SaaS, tech, or the hospitality sector.
  • Channel Ownership: You have a proven track record of managing multiple platforms - specifically LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube - and you’re comfortable taking full ownership of a content calendar.
  • Video Production: You are hands-on when it comes to social video. You’ve handled the end-to-end process before: from briefing and scripting to interviewing customers, editing, and hitting "publish."
  • Platform Tools: You are a regular user of social media management and analytics tools (like Hootsuite) and are comfortable navigating Meta Business Suite.
  • Project Management: You have experience working cross-functionally with different teams and can manage multiple projects without losing track of the details.

Attributes & Skills

  • Native-Level German: You are a native German speaker with excellent professional English (written and spoken).
  • The Modern Marketer: You’re tech-savvy and know how to leverage AI, social, and video tools to scale content production and make your workflows more efficient.
  • Storytelling and Copywriting: You have a knack for telling stories and adapting your tone of voice to suit different platforms and audiences perfectly.
  • Data-Savvy: You understand social metrics and can translate them into clear, actionable recommendations for the team.
  • Social Trend Expert: You stay on top of the latest platform updates, social trends, and hospitality industry news.
  • Strategic Thinker: You know how to align your social media efforts with broader marketing goals to drive real business impact.

Even better if you have (but not necessary):

  • Experience launching or scaling social media channels in completely new markets.
  • A background in working with influencers or creator collaborations.
  • A genuine affinity for the hospitality sector.
  • Knowledge of Dutch, Spanish, or other languages is a strong plus.

What’s in it for you?

  • Hybrid work structure with designated in-office "pillar" days
  • Annual Wellness & Health Budget
  • Flexibility to work from any Lightspeed office
  • Work abroad through our remote work programme (up to 60 days per year)
  • Employee technology purchase plan
