Our team:
You’ll join the Core Borrowing team, a cross-functional group consisting of Credit Analysts, Product Manager, Engineers, Designers, Marketers, Customer Research. The team's ambition is to establish Monzo as the preferred borrowing option for its customers. This will be achieved by continuously enhancing the experience for existing borrowers and developing innovative new products.
The credit teams are part of our wider Data Discipline which drives a strong-culture of data-driven decision making across the whole company using powerful, real-time analytics.
Your day-to-day:
As a Senior Credit Analyst, you’ll play a critical role in shaping Monzo’s credit strategy across core lending products. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading analytical initiatives to improve credit underwriting, manage portfolio risk, and support growth
- Supporting the design, implementation and iteration of lending strategies based on data insights
- Monitoring performance of existing strategies and identifying opportunities for improvement
- Developing and maintaining credit models (including cohort performance, risk segmentation, and NPV analysis) to inform strategic decision-making
- Building and enhancing dashboards, data pipelines, and reporting that enable rapid, data-driven decisions
- Collaborating with cross-functional partners in engineering, product, marketing, risk, and control to design and deliver product changes and features
- Assessing long-term portfolio performance and contributing to strategic discussions on portfolio health
- Helping define and document methodology, assumptions, and business impact for leadership and stakeholders
Locations & flexible working:
Our main tech hub is in London, but our data teams are based all over the UK — from Brighton to the Western Isles.

You should apply if:
You’ll be a strong fit if you have:
- Experience in unsecured retail lending (e.g., credit cards, personal loans, overdrafts, etc.)
- A solid understanding of lending economics, including pricing, risk trade-offs, and portfolio performance metrics
- History of developing and deploying underwriting strategies or credit risk frameworks
- Excellent analytical and data skills - SQL is essential, Python and Looker are a plus
- Ability to translate complex analysis into actionable recommendations and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of UK lending regulations and how they shape credit strategy
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments
- Strong project management and organisation skills

Interview process
Our typical process is structured as:
- Recruiter call
- Initial hiring manager call
- Take-home task
- Final interviews - (3x) including case study, role-specific, and behavioural interviews
Our average process takes around 3-4 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
