About Netskope

Today, there's more data and users outside the enterprise than inside, causing the network perimeter as we know it to dissolve. We realized a new perimeter was needed, one that is built in the cloud and follows and protects data wherever it goes, so we started Netskope to redefine Cloud, Network and Data Security.

Since 2012, we have built the market-leading cloud security company and an award-winning culture powered by hundreds of employees spread across offices in Santa Clara, St. Louis, Bangalore, London, Paris, Melbourne, Taipei, and Tokyo. Our core values are openness, honesty, and transparency, and we purposely developed our open desk layouts and large meeting spaces to support and promote partnerships, collaboration, and teamwork. From catered lunches and office celebrations to employee recognition events and social professional groups such as the Awesome Women of Netskope (AWON), we strive to keep work fun, supportive and interactive. About the role

Netskope is seeking a Sr. Engineering Manager to lead the Provisioner Engineering team. As the backbone of the Netskope platform, this team builds the high-scale, distributed systems responsible for Tenant/User provisioning and Configuration Management.

What’s in it for you

This isn't just a people management role; it is a strategic technical leadership position. Because our services are foundational, you will act as a primary bridge between your team and the rest of the engineering organization. You will be responsible for navigating complex architectural discussions, negotiating service boundaries, and ensuring that our platform scales seamlessly as Netskope continues its global expansion.

What you will be doing

  • Architectural Diplomacy: Act as the lead negotiator for software design and architecture across peer teams. You will ensure that Provisioner services meet the evolving needs of the platform while maintaining system integrity and long-term scalability.
  • Technical Roadmap Ownership: Drive the vision for distributed systems that handle critical configuration and email management, balancing technical debt with high-impact feature delivery.
  • High-Stakes Communication: Translate complex technical constraints into clear business trade-offs for stakeholders. You can defend an architectural decision while remaining open to feedback and collaboration.
  • Team Leadership & Mentorship: Lead a high-performing team of engineers, fostering a culture of "security-first" development and operational excellence.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with Product Management and Platform Architects to define API contracts and service-level objectives (SLOs) that satisfy internal "customers."

Required Skills and Experience

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience building large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems.
  • 4+ years of engineering management experience recruiting, developing, and leading technical teams of 10+ engineers, with a strong focus on talent growth and performance management.
  • Proficiency in modern backend languages (e.g. Python, Go) and frameworks; expert-level API design and relational data modeling skills; experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Strong hands-on problem-solving skills and the ability to structure and navigate ambiguity.
  • Proven cross-functional leadership, with the ability to influence, align, and drive teams without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information, facilitate consensus, and drive alignments, especially when managing competing priorities and trade-offs.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex technical and regulatory concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong product mindset, with experience understanding customer requirements, prioritizing for impact, and measuring adoption and satisfaction.

Education

  • BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
