Role Description
NEWME lives or dies on inventory: hold too little and we miss the sale, hold too much and we tie up cash and margin. This role owns that trade-off end to end — the models behind it, the plan that runs off them, and the team that executes. It combines the analytical depth of a planning seat with the ownership of a business leader.
You'll take a fast-moving, unpredictable demand-and-supply problem and turn it into a plan the org can run on, then hold everyone to it.
What will you do
- Build and own the demand forecasts and inventory plans; turn a fuzzy business problem into a clear basis for deciding.
- Size reorders and forward stock, and decide what to expedite, liquidate or reprice.
- Define the metrics, the source-of-truth dashboard and the escalation loop, so problems surface early rather than late.
- Partner with data engineering to productionize models and reporting.
- Lead the cross-functional planning team: turn status meetings into decisions and owners.
Basic Qualification
- Strong quantitative or analytical background.
- A track record of solving real-world planning problems with measurable business impact.
- Fluent communicating with both technical and non-technical audiences, up to leadership.
Prefered Qualification
- Inventory, supply, or merchandise planning in fashion, e-commerce, or fast-moving retail.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing without authority.
- Exposure to demand-shaping levers such as pricing, assortment and range, not just buying.
- Years of experience - 5-8 years
What will you work on
Forecast demand, size buys and cover against it, and read the plan against actuals to catch drift early. Run scenarios to weigh a decision's cost before committing capital. You're strong with data and comfortable turning a number into a call the business will act on.
What Success Looks Like
- First few weeks: the source-of-truth dashboard and planning cadence are live, fill rate and days-on-hand sit on a single tracked plan, and the issues that used to surface late get caught early.
- Within a couple of months: both metrics are moving the right way at once, on a replenishment, forward-stocking and liquidation rhythm that runs week on week, inside budget and without touching order volume, SLA or margin.
