We are seeking an experienced individual to lead the accounts team at Niyo. The person will play a pivotal role in overseeing the company's accounting functions, ensuring accurate financial reporting, managing month-end processes, conducting audits & Due Diligence ,and implementing robust cost & Internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in implementing effective accounting processes in the fintech industry.

Key Responsibilities :

● Financial Leadership: Provide strategic leadership and direction to the accounting team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting

● Month-End Processes: Oversee month-end close processes, including reconciliations, journal entries, and financial statement preparation. Ensure the integrity and accuracy of financial data.

● Audit Management: Coordinate and manage internal and external audits, collaborating closely with auditors, providing necessary documentation, and ensuring compliance with auditing standards and regulations.

● Cost Controls: Develop and implement effective cost control measures, analyzing financial data to identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency. Provide recommendations to senior management.

● Compliance and Regulations: Stay abreast of accounting regulations, standards, and best practices. Ensure the company's accounting practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.

● Process Optimization: Continuously assess and optimize accounting processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and productivity. Implement best practices and automation where applicable.

● Financial Analysis: Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making processes, identify financial trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide strategic recommendations based on analysis.

● Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, providing financial expertise and support for strategic initiatives, product development, and business expansion activities.

● Team Development: Mentor, develop, and motivate the accounting team. Foster a culture of continuous learning, growth, and high performance within the department.

Qualifications :

● Minimum of 7-8 years of progressive financial leadership experience, with a focus on accounting, in the fintech or financial services industry.

● Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and audit standards.

● Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

● Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.

● Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with [specific software/tools] is a plus.

● Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
