Brief Description of Company: Niyo was founded in 2015 with the vision of changing the way Indians approach their finances - no matter where they work, what they earn, or how techsavvy they are. We currently have around 500 employees spread across offices in Bangalore. To date, we’ve raised $179.3 Million in funding, and have maintained a sharp focus on identifying customers’ banking pain points and crafting solutions that improve their experience. We currently operate in 4 major business lines:

  • Niyo Bharat - a prepaid salary card and digital banking product for blue collar workers
  • Niyo Global - a zero forex markup travel card that works anywhere in the world
  • NiyoX - a co-branded savings account with industry-best interest rates, 0 maintenance charges, and a host of exciting features
  • Niyo Money - a wealth management platform with 0 commission mutual funds, domestic stocks, and more.

We are seeking a detailoriented and experienced Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be skilled in Record to Report (R2R) processes, reconciliations, and reimbursement management. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, efficient reconciliation of accounts, and timely processing of employee reimbursements while adhering to internal controls and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record to Report (R2R):
  • Maintain accurate and timely financial records.
  • Ensure proper month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Prepare financial statements and management reports.
  • Assist in variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
  • Reconciliations:
  • Perform account reconciliations, including bank, vendor, and intercompany accounts.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Monitor and manage open items in reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Reimbursement Processes:
  • Review and process employee expense reports in compliance with company policies.
  • Ensure accuracy and proper documentation of reimbursements.
  • Work with employees to resolve reimbursement-related queries and discrepancies.
  • Compliance and Controls:
  • Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits by providing required documentation and insights.
  • Assist in implementing and improving internal controls and process efficiencies.

Qualifications and Skills:

 Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field (CMA/MBA/MCOM) is a plus).

 Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience in accounting roles, with exposure to R2R, reconciliations, and reimbursement processes.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in ERP systems (Tally) and advanced Excel skills.
