Purpose of your role
Reporting to the Operations Team Lead or Manager, the Settlements Officer is required to support the current ‘OFX 1.0’ legacy Operations, whilst also engaging and supporting the overall transition to the Company’s SaaS / New Client Platform (NCP), ‘OFX 2.0’, as/when required.
Across OFX 1.0 you will be required to facilitate the day-to-day processing of client inward and outward funds in accordance with company policy and dealer requirements. The role will also be responsible for the day-to-day enquiries from our client services teams in relation to operational issues, which would include the receipt and settlement of client transactions or client identification requirements, as well as investigation of payment instructions or location of funds.
For ‘OFX 2.0’ the successful candidate will be required to support the ongoing transition of OFX onto the New Client Platform (NCP), including any additional Operations responsibilities such as daily payment/RFI investigations, reconciliations and allocation of payments in accordance with company policy.
What you do:
OFX 1.0 (legacy)
- Daily bank account reconciliation and payments in numerous currencies.
- Compiling cross-border reports along with China SAFE’s requirement
- Clarification of client / front office instructions
- Inputting client beneficiary instructions
- Payment investigations including complex investigation handling (amendments, recalls, swift receipts and payment traces)
OFX 2.0 (NCP)
- Domestic and international payment investigations including recall, amendment, trace and technical ‘RFI’ investigation handling via SalesForce
- Primary responsibility as OFX Banking Partner liaison for payment related enquiries
- Liaison point between internal OFX teams including but not limited to Commercial, Customer service, Developers and Technical teams.
- Bank account and vendor reconciliations.
- Reporting and actioning payment issues, including payments “stuck in processing” or “closed inactive” accounts.
- Allocation of deposits not captured by automatic handling.
- Support the ongoing change delivery program, as required.
- Technical internal query management via email and Salesforce
Qualifications
Knowledge, skills, experience
- 2 years’ experience in an office-based environment (recent graduates will also be considered)
- Candidates with accounting degree/experience is desirable
- Experience in settlements with reconciliation knowledge is an advantage
- An understanding of foreign exchange markets, foreign exchange terms and pricing calculations is an advantage
- Excellent written and verbal communication (Ideally English, Cantonese and Mandarin)
- Proficient computer skills with the ability to input Chinese characters (ability to input simplified Chinese would be a bonus)
- Workflow management – ability to multi-task, prioritise and manage deadlines
- Processing skills – strong attention to detail, high work rate and low error count
- Computer skills – intermediate level skills with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Work ethic – enthusiastic, motivated and proactive approach to work
- Interpersonal skills – personable, approachable, positive and relationship building abilities
- Variable working hours may be needed in line with business requirements
- SalesForce exposure is favourable
