Position description:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accession Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing patient samples, maintaining accurate records, and supporting laboratory operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. The ideal candidate should possess strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Receive, verify, and register patient samples accurately.
  • Ensure proper labeling, handling, and storage of samples.
  • Maintain accurate records and update laboratory systems as required.
  • Monitor sample movement and support workflow coordination across laboratory functions.
  • Identify and report discrepancies or issues related to samples and documentation.
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality guidelines, and safety protocols.
  • Assist in maintaining documentation and records for operational and quality purposes.
  • Support inventory management of laboratory supplies and consumables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely processing of samples.
  • Contribute to maintaining a high standard of operational efficiency and service quality.

Required Skills:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT/BMLT).
  • 0–3 years of experience in healthcare, laboratory operations, sample management, or related fields.
  • Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory processes and documentation practices is preferred.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work rotational shifts, weekends, and holidays as required.
