About the Role!

We have been growing our FP&A team globally over the last little while, adding new FP&A members to support our global teams in Product, Engineering, Go To Market.

Now, we are looking for a Senior FP&A Analyst to join us and support the Marketing team and their global initiatives.

This is an opportunity to work in a fast paced, continually changing global environment. This Senior FP&A Analyst will gain invaluable experience in a position which offers responsibility, autonomy and interaction with management as well as have an opportunity to impact decisions in Pagerduty’s expense management across all marketing functions.

As you learn and grow in the role, you will have the opportunity to become a driver on the team, and have the opportunity to come in at the ground floor of marketing ROI analytics and help build ROI function from the ground up by auditing the current landscape and introducing new, efficient, automated processes that do not exist today.

Folks who excel in this role adapt to change management, work cross functionally effectively and are able to deal with some ambiguity throughout the fiscal year as goals are met, plans shift and importance of priorities change due to internal and external market factors.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Primary liaison with Accounting to perform monthly close activities including purchase order and invoice accruals and reclasses
  • Independently generate monthly budget vs. actual reports and support reviews with Business Leaders
  • Participate in the preparation and review of annual budgets and rolling 8-quarter forecasts to provide visibility into the business and establish financial guidance.
  • Develop, analyze, and interpret financial and operating results and information, providing insights and recommendations; improve forecast accuracy and visibility.
  • Serve as key business partner and contributor to growth strategies, tactics, mid and long-range planning.
  • Perform ad-hoc projects and financial analysis and presentations for senior leadership, executive management as you grow into the role
  • Provide support for evaluating investment decisions, such as ROI and analytical tools to ensure decisions are made in alignment with the creation of shareholder value
  • Support the financial evaluation and implications of potential new products, operating models, contracts, marketing programs and technology solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in FP&A or accounting in a growth environment, Experience with business partnering across various functions
  • Experience working with large data sets and complex model building
  • Advanced Excel; Excellent analytical and financial modeling skills, with great attention to detail
  • In-depth experience with financial statement analysis and a strong understanding of corporate finance and accounting concepts
  • Ability to operate independently and prioritize effectively to work in a fast-paced environment without compromising high standards of quality

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Your FP&A experience can come from public accounting, consulting, or investment banking environments
  • Knowledge of the tools or similar we use here at PagerDuty like Netsuite and FP&A systems (Anaplan) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or equivalent

Compensation Info:

**The base salary range for this position is 179,000 - 289,000 USD. This role may also be eligible for bonus, commission, equity, and/or benefits.

Our base salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range, which is subject to change based on primary work location, reflects the minimum and maximum base salary we expect to pay newly hired employees for the position. Within the range, we determine pay for an individual based on a number of factors including market location, job-related knowledge, skills/competencies and experience.**
