Job Description

Rockwell Automation is looking for an Infrastructure Automation Engineer to join our dynamic technology team. You'll play a vital role in building, maintaining, and enhancing automation solutions that support our global technology operations, with a special focus on foundational configuration management and automation for network devices, servers, and storage.

You will report to the Senior IT Manager located in the USA and have a hybrid schedule working in Katowice, Poland.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement automation workflows for provisioning, configuration, and management of on-prem network devices, servers, and storage.
  • Support the definition and rollout of configuration baselines, reusable templates, and automation playbooks (e.g., Ansible, NetBox, Terraform).
  • Help audit existing device configurations and integrate standards into automated provisioning workflows.
  • Assist in compliance validation, config drift detection, and ongoing configuration management (version control, rollback, continuous improvement).
  • Support CI/CD pipeline automation and contribute scripts for system provisioning, monitoring, and environment management.
  • Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to deliver automation initiatives and resolve issues.
  • Document automation processes and maintain environment performance and compliance.
  • Stay current with automation tools and practices.

The Essentials - You Will Have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • 1–3 years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or technical automation roles.
  • Knowledge of infrastructure concepts (systems, cloud, networking).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in a scripting/programming language (e.g., Python, Bash).
  • Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code/configuration management (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet).
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Basic understanding of monitoring/logging tools.
  • Proficient English for global teamwork.

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:

  • Experience in production or staging IT environments.
  • Familiarity with ITSM tools or asset/configuration management databases.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP, Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes).
