Job Description
Position Summary:
This role leads user experience design for Rockwell Automation’s Enterprise Customer Experience organization, driving global transformation. As part of the Discover and Design Team, you’ll manage the full design lifecycle—from research and concept to evaluation and delivery—using user-centered design principles for enterprise platforms like SAP Hybris and Salesforce Customer 360. You’ll collaborate with UX specialists, IT architects, developers, and business teams to design, prototype, and test innovative solutions, ensuring successful implementation through cross-functional communication. In this position you will report to the CX Design Leader.
Your Responsibilities:
Collaborate with business transformation project teams to apply best-practice user-centered design and usability engineering techniques to new customer, partner, and employee experiences across CRM, partner portals, customer portals, and commerce platforms, leveraging technologies such as Adobe Experience Manager, MuleSoft, Salesforce, and SAP Hybris.
Understand how customers, partners, and employees use current enterprise platforms, and use that knowledge to drive improvements in new platforms.
Develop and maintain mockups, wireframes, scenarios, prototypes, navigation maps and other design artifacts. Validate designs with stakeholders and adjacent teams.
Define innovative user interfaces and interaction styles which result in improved user productivity and deliver business value. Validate designs with stakeholders and adjacent teams.
Create visually compelling, user-centered interfaces that align with brand guidelines and elevate the overall product experience.
Deliver high-fidelity, production-ready designs and specifications that ensure seamless handoff to development teams.
Improve, standardize, and institutionalize the user-centered creativity and design methodology.
Stay current with trends and best practices in the user experience/usability and enterprise platform design domains.
Leverage user research and collaborate with business unit teams to translate business goals into the best enterprise experience solutions for our business.
Keep informed of new developments in the user experience design field. Participate in technical and developmental training opportunities.
Help develop, evolve, and maintain UI standards and guidelines.
Evaluate and recommend new tools and methods to support the work of the broader research and design user experience community.
Clearly communicate and convey design concepts, presentations, and written deliverables, both verbally and written.
Effectively team with others through mutually supportive professional relationships, open and direct communications, honesty, and respect. Cope with and leverage personality differences and differences of opinion.
Take ownership of assignments by understanding expected outcomes, requesting help as needed.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
Bachelor’s degree in interaction/user experience design, human factors, cognitive or behavioral science, or related discipline required (or equivalent demonstrated experience and expertise).
Four or more years of experience in interaction/user experience design for CRM and ecommerce, especially in B2B businesses
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Portfolio of work /samples of interaction design work required.
Experience using Figma®, Maze, Miro and prototyping tools desired.
Experience designing complex B2B commerce platforms
Can simplify the complex problems without compromising function
Experience with direct vs. distributor-led sales models
Deep understanding of cart, checkout, and order management UX
Understands Quote workflows
Knows how to balance UX needs with business constraints (compliance, legal, scalability)
Understands the complex tool ecosystems
Can scope and distill the most important context information and system relationships
Uses UX research & data to validate design decisions
Ability to conduct User research and A/B testing
Strong ability to map workflows & identify pain points in complex, multi-step, multi-personas workflows
Has designed for B2B industrial, manufacturing, or engineering-heavy applications.
Understands ERP, CRM, and procurement system interactions (SAP, Oracle, Salesforce, etc.)
Knows how to balance UX needs with business constraints (compliance, legal, scalability)
