Job Description
Engineer 1, Test
Bangalore
You will utilize product domain knowledge and sound engineering practices, to perform embedded firmware test activities for Rockwell automation products.
You are going to work with the test leads and then learn about our product architects, our processes and our latest technologies.
You will report to Manager, Engineering and follow a Hybrid working schedule in Banaglore
Your Responsibilities:
- Understand and translate requirements, design/functional specifications to define test requirements, and design test cases.
- Participate in reviews for feature requirements. Perform analysis and improvement on the existing test cases.
- Develop test ware, test script and implement firmware functional tests based on established guidelines.
- Debug failures, report anomalies.
- Report progress to the team lead and manager, escalate issues on time whenever necessary.
- Work in a project to create test report.
- Perform analysis and improvement on the existing test cases Debug failures, report and track anomalies
- Contribute to test KPI deliverables Perform regression testing whenever necessary.
- You will involve in multiple test cycle (from functional, to system test) and also multiple test types (such as safety test, cyber security test, firmware test)
- You will involve in innovation activities to improve our test capabilities using the latest technologies
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Degree in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
- 1-3Years of technical experience in testing
- Hands-on experience in Manual testing. Like different types of tests(Hardware test , Firmware test , Software test )
- Hands-on experience in Test Engineering processes (Agile, continuous integration, waterfall) and methods for test case design and test coverage optimization.
- The job requires experience in test automation tools, and we demand hands-on experience in test automation frameworks. You need programming experience in scripting languages (preferably Python).
- Hands-on experience in Ladder programming.
- Exposure of industrial automation and PLC application will be advantageous.
- Familiarity with Rockwell products, such as Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation, will be a great advantage. In particular, experience with IO's, controller's families, panel view/HMI, and RSLogix5000/500 Application Software is valuable. Additionally, experience with test lab development is also beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with bug/anomaly tracking and evaluation systems.
- Passionate with testing and curious to explore.
