Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Automation Test Lead to drive quality strategy and execution for enterprise-grade industrial software products. In this role, you will own automation architecture, lead test automation for a Pod, and ensure reliable, scalable test coverage across UI and API layers. You will collaborate closely with Product Owners, Developers, DevOps, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver high-quality releases at speed.

You will report to the Engineering Manager.

Your Responsibilities:

• Own and evolve the test automation strategy aligned with Agile delivery and CI/CD.
• Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers—task planning, reviews, coaching, and technical direction.
• Define quality gates, coverage goals, and release readiness criteria for features and sprints.
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks using:
• Selenium WebDriver (Java)
• TestCafe for modern web UI automation
• Java-based tooling and libraries (TestNG/JUnit, Maven/Gradle)
• Build reliable regression suites, smoke suites, and feature-focused automation packs.
• Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps/Jenkins/GitHub Actions).
• Provide actionable quality metrics: pass rate, defect leakage, automation ROI, coverage, and execution time.
• Collaborate with DevOps to optimize pipeline runtime, environment
• Translate requirements/user stories into test scenarios and automation candidates.
• Ensure coverage across functional, regression, integration, and exploratory testing.
• Drive defect triage and root cause analysis in partnership with development.
• Partner with product and engineering leaders to plan sprint testing, assess risk, and manage dependencies.
• Ensure clear reporting to stakeholders on test progress, blockers, and release quality.
  

The Essentials – You Will Have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
• 10–12 years of experience in software testing with a strong focus on test automation.
• Strong hands-on expertise in:
  • Selenium WebDriver
  • TestCafe
  • Java
• Proven experience leading automation efforts and mentoring engineers.
• Strong understanding of automation framework design patterns, modular architecture, and maintainability.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development and working closely with engineering teams.
• Excellent debugging, analytical thinking, and communication skills.
  

The Preferred – You Might Also Have:

• Understanding of microservices testing approaches and test pyramids.
• Experience with test management tools (Test Café, Test Plans, Jira/Xray).
• Familiarity with source control (Git) and code review practices.
• Experience with containers/test environments (Docker), mock services, and test data strategies.
• Exposure to performance, security, or accessibility testing.
• Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
