Job Description
The Project Hardware Development Engineer is primarily focused on FPGA RTL design and verification with responsibilities pertaining to functional verification and hardware bring-up. You will participate in product development activities, including troubleshooting designs, generating test plans, conducting verification tests, and creating design and product documentation.
You will develop and maintain RTL designs using Verilog/SystemVerilog and VHDL for FPGA solutions and perform functional simulation and verification to ensure the designs meet functional and performance specifications.
You will also debug and resolve design and simulation issues, collaborate with architects, verification engineers, and system teams to clarify requirements, and support design integration, bring-up, and issue resolution.
You will also ensure high design quality by following coding standards and maintaining proper technical documentation.
You will report to our Engineering Team Lead - Hardware and work a hybrid schedule.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain FPGA RTL in Verilog, SystemVerilog, and VHDL.
- Develop and maintain verification environments in UVM and VMM.
- Debug RTL, simulation, synthesis, and hardware issues.
- Support FPGA integration, bring-up, and system-level debug.
- Author test plans, verification reports, and technical documentation.
- Understand how RTL looks/behaves after it is synthesized into gates.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (No sponsorship for employment visas now or in the future for this role.)
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience in electronics logic design.
- electronics development background
- experience with simulation tools such as VCS and Questa.
- Experience with FPGA synthesis, implementation, and debug using tools such as Diamond, Quartus, or Vivado.
- Experience with high-speed/packetized protocols such as PCIe/USB/Ethernet and peripheral/control protocols such as SPI and I2C.
- Experience using lab equipment such as logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers, and the ability to use them to debug issues.
- Experience with digital and analog electronics, power supplies, and I/O circuits.
- Perform board-level and system-level design verification testing.
- Functional safety product development with IEC 61508.
