Job Description
Rockwell Automation is seeking a Quality Engineer to support our Cambridge, Ontario operations and play a key role in advancing operational quality across our Medium Voltage product lines. This role partners closely with manufacturing, engineering, and global operations teams to drive effective problem-solving, strengthen quality systems, and ensure timely, accurate responses to customer and production-related quality issues. As a hands-on quality leader, you will act as a change agent—improving processes, supporting new product launches, and reinforcing the execution of our Quality Management System (QMS) and Rockwell Production System (RPS).
You will report to the Quality Manager and work onsite in Cambridge, ON.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide prompt and accurate responses to manufacturing-related customer issues; partner with production to strengthen quality control plans, improve early detection and containment, and implement error-proofing.
- Drive internal quality and scrap corrective actions for Medium Voltage products through both tactical shop-floor problem solving and strategic root cause analysis using tools such as QPS, 8D, MAARs, Kaizens, and DOEs.
- Support successful new product launches in collaboration with the Medium Voltage Business Unit and Operations & Engineering Services teams.
- Enhance QMS effectiveness and efficiency by participating in ISO 9001 audits and leading responses to assigned findings.
- Partner with Supplier Quality Engineers within MRBs to contain non-conforming materials and drive supplier corrective actions.
- Fulfill MV Global Center of Excellence responsibilities by advancing system standardization, technology transfer, and best-practice sharing across global sites.
- Identify and communicate process improvement opportunities while adhering to defined standards, streamlining activities, and improving execution efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively across teams, contribute to shared goals, and promote a cooperative, solutions-focused working environment.
- Make sound, data-informed decisions; balance priorities and adjust work methods to eliminate inefficiencies.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Relevant Field.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future for this job opening.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
- 5+ years of quality engineering experience in manufacturing environments, with applied knowledge of Lean & Six Sigma methodologies.
- Preference given to candidates with a PEO P.Eng. license, and designations in American Society for Quality (ASQ) and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE),
- Preference will be given to candidates with working experience in Engineered-to-Order (ETO) Electrical/Electronic systems manufacturing, working in environments with formal quality management (ISO9001) & production systems.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills required for procedure writing and communication when dealing with all levels of the organization. The ability to provide clear, concise technical summaries to executives is critical.
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt.

This position is part of a job family. Experience will be the determining factor for position level and compensation.
For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from $83,360 - $95,000 with an annual target bonus of 5% of base salary. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
