Job Description
The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for the engineering, execution, and delivery of industrial control and automation projects, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, contractual commitments, and Rockwell Automation standards.
You will cover the full project lifecycle, from post‑sales handover through commissioning and project closeout, being the main technical interface with the customer and an important coordinator across our teams.
You will report to the Technical Team Lead
Main Responsibilities:
- Execute control and automation projects using Rockwell Automation technologies, including PLCs, DCS, HMI/SCADA, and industrial networks.
- Develop and review control system architectures, functional specifications, and technical designs following project requirements and industry standards.
- Lead basic and detailed engineering activities, including software development, system integration, and technical documentation.
- Manage in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, and start‑up activities.
- Be a primary technical contact with the customer during project execution.
- Collaborate with our teams such as sales, global engineering, supply chain, panel builders, quality, and HSE to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify technical risks and deviations, proposing and implementing mitigation actions.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports, and technical deliverables for customers and management.
The Essentials – You Will Have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Control, Mechatronics, or related discipline).
- Proficiency in written and spoken English
The Preferred – You Might Also Have:
- 5+ years of experience in execution of industrial control and automation projects.
- Solid knowledge of industrial automation and process control systems.
- Hands‑on experience with PLC and/or DCS platforms (e.g., ControlLogix, CompactLogix, PlantPAx, or equivalent).
- Experience in HMI and SCADA application development.
- Knowledge of instrumentation integration and field devices.
- Experience with industrial communication networks (e.g., EtherNet/IP or equivalent).
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, RFQs, and industry standards.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple technical and commercial interfaces.
- Availability for travel and on‑site work, as needed by the project.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry or other process industries (energy, chemicals, mining, utilities).
- Knowledge and experience with Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), including functional safety concepts, SIL classification, and lifecycle management.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards such as IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
- Experience or exposure to Advanced Process Control (APC) strategies and control optimization techniques.
- Functional Safety / SIS certification from recognized organizations (e.g., TÜV, EXIDA, ISA).
- Experience working with EPC contractors, end users, and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with Rockwell Automation project execution methodologies and engineering tools.
- Experience working with F&G Systems
