Position Summary
You will manage the and cost-effective purchase of components. These purchases support main corporate functions, including Marketing, Sales, HR, IT, and Finance. Additionally, they support key customer contracts and service offerings, such as repair, remanufacturing, field labor, and projects. Develop new supply sources where vendors and suppliers are inadequate. An person may recommend cost-saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing and vendor evaluation criteria.
Your Responsibilities:
- Evaluate existing and potential suppliers based on the principles of Total Cost of Ownership and ensure timely acquisitions of product or service requirements from known sources of supply.
- Ethically represent Rockwell Automation when working with other companies. This representation includes conducting meetings and presentations with supplier and Rockwell Automation personnel. It also involves selecting appropriate sources, communicating material specifications, and pricing. Additionally, it encompasses establishing delivery commitments, resolving quality problems, and communicating industry trends and technological innovations. Furthermore, it includes resolving disputed legal and financial issues.
- Develop specific goals to support Purchasing's departmental goals. Establish personal growth goals to support you and Rockwell Automation. Report periodic progress toward those objectives to the purchasing supervisor.
- Edit and process purchase requisitions working with appropriate departments to clarify specifications and requirements. Use SAP and other enterprise systems and programs to issue purchase orders, collect and analyze data.
- Coordinate activities with other teams (including Engineering, IT, Marketing, Regional Service Delivery, Customer Care, and Finance/Accounting) to achieve maximum customer service levels.
- Participate in and support the coordinated purchase agreement programs with the Rockwell Strategic Sourcing organization.
- Aid in the development of enhanced computer systems/capabilities in support of overall productivity improvement efforts and management reporting.
- Ensure familiarity with procedures relating to the purchasing department and standards of business conduct.
- Conducts tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations. These regulations include state/federal laws, ISO 9001, ISO 14000, etc. Additionally, tasks are conducted in accordance with Rockwell/Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Materials Management, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management or a related technical discipline.
- A minimum of 1 year direct related experience.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Purchasing experience in a manufacturing or services environment is helpful.
- Under high-risk situations.
- Peers and lead teams.
- Results in improving and implementing cost reduction programs.
- Exposure to concepts of contract negotiation and conflict resolution.
- And negotiation skills.
- Demonstrated and project management skills
