Founded in 2016, Radar is headquartered in New York, NY. Radar has raised $85.5M from leading venture capital firms including Accel and Insight Partners.

About the role

Radar is looking for a Sales Engineer to serve as a consultative, pre-sales technical partner to support our growing segment of small and mid-size (SMB) prospective customers.

You’ll work alongside our Sales and EPD (Engineering, Product, and Design) teams to drive new business by providing technical product overviews, supporting product Q&A sessions, and helping run successful product evaluations that demonstrate Radar’s competitive advantage and bridge our technical solutions to business value.

As the first Sales Engineer focused on our SMB segment, you’ll get the chance to shape a brand new SE function and have a lot of autonomy and impact. You will report to our Director of Sales Engineering. This is a NYC-based position located at our headquarters in Union Square and you'll be working from our New York office Monday-Thursday with the opportunity to WFH on Fridays.

For candidates based in the United States, the base salary range for this full-time position is between $100,000 - $120,000/year with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $120,000 - $140,000/year with the opportunity for performance bonuses and incentives.

In addition to cash compensation, Radar offers full-time employees a competitive equity plan with stock option grants. This is a meaningful ownership stake in the company that we provide to our employees as we build a category-defining company together.

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Your exact offer may vary based on market location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

What you’ll do:

  • Act as a technical partner to the Sales team to drive new logo acquisition
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of the Radar platform and function as a technical subject matter expert for prospective customers
  • Partner with the Sales team to discover customer requirements and match business and technical needs to Radar’s solutions
  • Articulate how Radar’s product meets customers’ needs by providing product demonstrations
  • Structure and drive technical product evaluations, providing informed implementation guidance and monitoring to verify accurate usage
  • Support product Q&A via email and on calls, debugging technical questions, as needed
  • Relay customer feedback or product requests to internal teams

You should have:

  • 1+ years of Sales Engineering OR Software Engineering experience (we are open to Software Engineers who want to transition to Sales/Sales Engineering)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to a range of stakeholders
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a track record of meeting deadlines, and managing time thoughtfully across competing priorities
  • Goal-oriented mindset; you take the initiative to get things done and are motivated by results
  • Geolocation industry knowledge or familiarity with mapping software, a plus
  • SQL / Metabase familiarity and/or mobile expertise (testing mobile SDK patterns), a plus
