Job Description
We are looking for a talented and driven Junior Counsel (Commercial) to join our legal team at RedotPay. This is an exciting opportunity for a NQ – 2PQE junior lawyer to thrive in a fast-paced, innovative fintech environment. As Junior Counsel (Commercial), you will play a vital role in negotiating, drafting, and reviewing a diverse range of commercial contracts, supporting our mission to deliver cutting-edge financial solutions. You will collaborate with internal teams and provide critical legal insights to drive business success.
Key Responsibilities
- Contracts Negotiation, Drafting, and Review:
- NDAs.
- Service Agreements with a wide spectrum of service providers, including card networks, BIN sponsors, custody providers, payment service providers, stablecoin issuers, liquidity providers, and more.
- Corporate finance transaction documents, e.g., term sheet, subscription agreement, shareholders’ agreement, and more.
- Commercial Analysis: Grasp and summarize key commercial points from contracts and legal documents, presenting them clearly and concisely to management for decision-making.
- Independent Task Evaluation: Critically and independently evaluate legal tasks, ensuring thorough analysis and effective solutions.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify potential risks holistically and offer practical, forward-thinking solutions to mitigate them.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to provide legal support and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: LLB or equivalent legal degree; qualified to practice law in Hong Kong
- Experience: NQ – 2PQE; ideally trained in a large commercial law firm. In-house experience is an advantage but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of commercial law and contract principles.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical abilities.
- Ability to distil complex legal and commercial issues into clear, actionable insights.
- Proactive mindset with meticulous attention to detail.
