About us

RetainIQ is a tech-first retention marketing company headquartered in Bangalore. We've built our own personalization platform that powers email and SMS programs for D2C brands across the US; candle companies, supplement brands, apparel labels, outdoor gear, pet products. Our SaaS tooling sits at the core of how we deliver retention outcomes that our clients can measure directly in revenue.

Design is central to what we do. Every email we ship is a small, considered piece of brand expression, and the difference between good and bad creative shows up directly in our clients' revenue numbers.

What you'll actually do

  • Design 8-15 emails per week across the D2C brands you're assigned to. Hero modules, modular sections, mobile-first layouts, post-purchase touchpoints, win-back creative, promotional sends.
  • Adapt to each brand's visual language. Not "your style on every brand", but their style, executed well, every time.
  • Work in Figma. Component-driven, organized files, clean hand-off.
  • Collaborate with strategists on creative briefs. Push back when the brief doesn't make design sense.
  • Some campaigns will involve photo sourcing, light retouching, and layout work. Some will be illustration-forward. Variety is the rule.
  • Use AI tools (generative imagery, ideation, asset gen) to move faster without compromising on craft. We invest in this stack and expect you to lean into it.

What we're looking for

  • 2 years of design experience in agency, in-house, or freelance. Email-specific experience is a plus but not required.
  • A portfolio that shows range across multiple brand voices. We want to see you adapting, not stamping one signature aesthetic everywhere.
  • Strong fundamentals: hierarchy, typography, color, composition. Polish matters.
  • Figma fluency. Component thinking, auto-layout, organized files.
  • Comfort with mobile-first, modular design. Most emails are read on a phone.
  • Speed without sloppiness. Email is high-volume work, and we'll teach you systems to design fast, but you should already work efficiently.
  • Bonus: basic HTML/CSS literacy or willingness to learn. We don't expect you to code, but understanding what's possible in an ESP helps.
