Position

Title: Vice President, Solutions Engineering - AMERICAS

Location: United States

Technology Specialization: Observability

The VP, Solutions Engineering is a strategic, customer-centric technology leader, responsible for driving the pre-sales technical vision, growth, and performance of our Solutions Engineering (SE) org., across North America.
You will be responsible for building and scaling high-performing SE teams who evangelize Riverbed Platform. You will also partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to accelerate revenue, improve win rates, and refine our technical strategy.

What you will do

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a Solutions Engineering team comprised of Directors (first-line managers) and Solutions Engineers across the AMERICAS (US & Canada).
  • Drive a culture of accountability, innovation, technical excellence, and customer empathy.
  • Build and execute the long-term technical sales strategy aligned with GTM, Product, and regional Sales leadership.
  • Partner with Sales to drive new business, expansion, and renewals across multiple segments.
  • Own metrics related to win rates, pipeline influence, technical validation cycles (POCs, pilots), and SE capacity planning.
  • Partner with Marketing and Enablement to deliver world-class demos, architectures, reference materials, and technical content.
  • Represent the SE organization in business planning, forecasting, and regional leadership reviews.
  • Introduce scalable processes around POCs, customer workshops, architecture reviews, and technical evaluations.

What makes you an ideal candidate

  • Ten or more years in technical customer-facing roles (Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent).
  • Five or more years leading managers (second-line leadership) in a scaling technology company.
  • Deep experience in one - or more - of the following: AIOps, Digital Employee Experience, Cloud Observability, Network Observability, Infrastructure Observability and/or Application Observability.
  • Demonstrated success partnering with enterprise Sales organizations to drive substantial revenue growth.
  • Experience operating in a fast-paced, competitive SaaS environment.
  • Executive presence with strong communication and storytelling capabilities.
  • Strategic thinker who balances long-term planning with hands-on execution.
