As a Sr. Engineering Manager / Engineering Manager, you will lead the engineering charter for lending and post-disbursement systems, ensuring scalability, performance, and seamless integration across loan life cycles, LOS (Loan Origination System), and LMS (Loan Management System).

Roles And Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage engineering teams of 10-12 high-performing developers and technical staff.
  • Own the architecture, design, and technical roadmap for core lending platforms including LOS and LMS.
  • Collaborate closely with product, business, and operations teams to define and deliver on roadmap priorities.
  • Ensure adoption of best practices in SDLC, including code reviews, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and incident management.
  • Drive technical excellence by setting and enforcing high coding standards and architectural guidelines.
  • Define clear OKRs and track delivery and quality metrics for sprint and release performance.
  • Maintain production hygiene, system uptime, and robust monitoring/alerting mechanisms for critical services.
  • Manage vendor and third-party integrations related to lenders, credit systems, and other fintech platforms.
  • Foster a culture of transparency, ownership, and continuous learning within the team.
  • Mentor and coach engineers for career progression and skill development.
  • Conduct performance reviews and partner with HR to ensure a healthy and motivated engineering culture.
  • Represent the technology function in cross-functional leadership discussions.

Skills And Qualifications Required

  • 8-12 years of experience in building scalable and high-performance systems, preferably in fintech or lending platforms.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in managing engineering teams and leading technical initiatives.
  • Strong hands-on experience in backend technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Python, or Node.js.
  • Deep understanding of system design, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Solid knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis).
  • Proficient in managing production systems, monitoring tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana), and incident

response processes.

  • Exposure to CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and source control systems (Git).
  • Familiarity with compliance and security standards relevant to fintech.
  • Strong leadership qualities empathetic, trustworthy, and results-driven.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to drive vision, influence cross-functional teams, and make data-driven decisions.
