About the role:

Sarla Aviation is looking for a Senior Procurement Manager to lead and optimize our procurement operations. We seek someone who can build a world-class supply chain, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and high quality in sourcing raw materials, components, and services for aerospace manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement & Strategic Sourcing:

• Lead procurement strategy for aerospace raw materials, propulsion systems, and flight control components.
• Develop a supplier qualification and evaluation framework to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate long-term contracts with key suppliers to secure favorable terms.
• Ensure compliance with aviation industry regulations and procurement best practices.

2. Supplier Relationship & Vendor Management:

• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, ensuring alignment with business needs.
• Identify and develop new suppliers globally to reduce cost & increase efficiency.
• Work with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure supplier capabilities meet aviation standards.

3. Cost Reduction & Optimization:

• Implement cost-reduction initiatives without compromising quality.
• Analyze procurement spend and optimize sourcing for better margins and efficiency.
• Develop strategies for risk mitigation in supply chain management.

4. Team Leadership & Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Lead and mentor a procurement team as the startup scales.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to align procurement with production goals.
• Develop best-in-class procurement processes for scalability.

5. Supplier Performance & Quality Assurance:

• Implement supplier KPIs & performance metrics to monitor reliability, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Drive continuous improvement programs with suppliers to enhance delivery timelines & product quality.
• Work closely with the QA team to ensure all procured materials meet aerospace certification standards.

6. Procurement for Innovation & Growth:

• Work with R&D teams to source cutting-edge materials & technologies for aircraft development.
• Stay updated with emerging trends in aerospace procurement & advanced materials.
• Build partnerships with suppliers that enable technological advancements in the startup's aviation projects.

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years in procurement, supply chain, or sourcing, preferably in aerospace, aviation, or manufacturing industries.
• Experience in aviation procurement (materials, propulsion, flight control, or components).
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing cost-effective contracts.
• Expertise in supplier development, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
• Familiarity with aviation regulations, compliance, and certifications is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills for cost-saving strategies and procurement optimization.
• Proven leadership ability in team management and supplier partnerships.
