About Sarla Aviation:
At Sarla Aviation, we are pioneers in developing next generation eVTOL aircraft. We are seeking a
Technical Author-Intern to join our team. As an integral member of our engineering team, you will be
responsible for the documentation for our EVTOL aircraft. This role offers an exciting opportunity to
contribute to the documents of cutting-edge aerospace technology. Aerospace technical authors play a
crucial role in the aerospace industry by creating clear, accurate, and comprehensive documentation
that is essential for both internal and external stakeholders. Their work often supports the
development, maintenance, and operation of aircraft, spacecraft, and other aerospace systems.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Creating Technical Documentation
• Manuals: Develop user manuals, maintenance manuals, and operating instructions for aerospace
equipment such as aircraft integration, propulsion systems, avionics, and spacecraft.
• Procedural Documentation: Create step-by-step procedures for maintenance, assembly,
troubleshooting, and testing aerospace components.
• System Specifications: Document the specifications and requirements for various aerospace
systems and components, ensuring alignment with design and safety standards.
• Training Materials: Develop training manuals and materials for pilots, engineers, technicians, and
other aerospace personnel.
2. Ensuring Accuracy and Compliance
• Adherence to Standards: Ensure all documents comply with industry standards, such as those set
by organizations like the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Federal Aviation Administration
(FAA), European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), and international aviation safety standards.
• Safety Protocols: Incorporate safety guidelines and regulatory requirements into documentation
to ensure safe operations and compliance with laws.
• Technical Consistency: Verify technical content for consistency, accuracy, and clarity, often
collaborating with engineers and subject matter experts (SMEs).
3. Collaboration with Engineers and Subject Matter Experts
• Research and Information Gathering: Collaborate closely with engineers, scientists, and other
SMEs to understand complex technical concepts and transform them into user-friendly
documentation.
• Review and Feedback: Work with engineers to review drafts and incorporate feedback on
technical accuracy and completeness.
4. Documenting Complex Technical Concepts
• Translation of Technical Jargon: Simplify and translate complex technical jargon into clear,
understandable language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Illustrations and Diagrams: Create or oversee the creation of diagrams, charts, and other visual
aids to enhance the understanding of the written content, including maintenance or assembly
procedures.
5. Editing and Proofreading
• Quality Control: Perform thorough editing and proofreading of technical documents to ensure
clarity, correctness, and compliance with internal and external standards.
• Revision and Updates: Regularly update manuals and documents to reflect changes in design,
technology, regulatory requirements, or company policies.
6. Document Management and Version Control

• Version Control: Manage revisions and versions of technical documents, ensuring that the most
current version is always available and that older versions are properly archived.
• Document Management Systems: Utilize document management systems (DMS) to store,
organize, and retrieve technical documentation efficiently.
7. User- Focus
• Audience Analysis: Understand the target audience for each document (e.g., pilots, engineers,
maintenance crews, regulatory bodies) and tailor the content, style, and language to suit their
needs.
8. Adapting to Industry Trends
• Emerging Technologies: Stay updated on new technologies, engineering practices, and regulatory
changes in the aerospace sector to ensure the documentation is current and relevant.
• Continuous Learning: Keep abreast of trends in technical writing, aerospace developments, and
related software tools to enhance documentation quality and efficiency.
Desired Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree/ Professional degree in any Aerospace field
• Technical Documentation certificate in aerospace domain
• 0-1 year of experience in aerospace technical documentation
• Proficiency in technical documentation tools and software (Latex, Arbotext, Adobe illustrator tool,
MS office tools etc)
• Technical Expertise in Aerospace
