About Sarla Aviation:
Sarla Aviation is at the forefront of revolutionizing urban air mobility with its cutting-edge eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing) aircraft featuring innovative tilt-rotor technology. Sarla Aviation, a pioneer in the development of sustainable, efficient, and safe air transportation systems, is dedicated to influencing the future of aviation.
About the Role:
We are seeking a Performance Systems Engineer to support aircraft- and system-level performance definition, analysis, and verification, covering overall aircraft performance and contributions from flight controls, powertrain, and energy systems across mission phases, working across the full lifecycle from requirements and performance budgets through integration, verification, and certification in close collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
• Define and manage aircraft- and system-level performance requirements, targets, and margins across mission phases.
• Develop and maintain performance budgets linking aircraft-level metrics to contributing systems.
• Analyze performance impacts of aircraft and its systems such as flight controls, powertrain, energy systems, including system interactions and trade-offs.
• Support system architecture and configuration trade studies impacting performance, efficiency, weight, and operational capability.
• Coordinate with propulsion, energy, flight controls, structures, and systems teams to ensure consistent performance assumptions and models.
• Support aircraft-level integration by assessing performance compliance under nominal and off-nominal conditions.
• Provide inputs to safety assessments, certification planning, and compliance demonstrations related to performance requirements.
• Participate in design reviews and ensure traceability between performance requirements, analyses, verification, and validation evidence.
Typical Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Experience in aircraft performance, flight sciences, or systems engineering within aerospace or other safety-critical domains.
• Working knowledge of aircraft performance analysis, mission analysis, and system-level performance allocation.
• Experience with requirements-driven development and V-model lifecycle practices.
• Strong analytical, documentation, and cross-functional coordination skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
• Experience analyzing performance contributions of flight controls, propulsion, and energy systems.
• Familiarity with aerospace systems engineering and certification standards and airworthiness processes (e.g., ARP4754B, FAA/EASA/DGCA).
• Experience supporting performance verification through simulation, ground testing, and flight testing.
• Exposure to performance modeling, simulation, or requirements tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink, Python-based analysis, Polarion).
• Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with multidisciplinary engineering teams, leadership, and certification stakeholders.
