Role Overview:
We are looking for a Senior Chemist – Pharma to support the R&D and process development team in executing synthetic chemistry experiments, process optimization, and scale-up of pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of organic chemistry and hands-on experience in multi-step synthesis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory-scale synthesis of pharmaceutical intermediates and APIs under supervision.
- Maintain accurate experimental records, observations, and results in lab notebooks.
- Assist in process optimization and reaction parameter studies.
- Support analytical teams in sample preparation and analysis (HPLC, GC, NMR, etc.).
- Follow safety protocols, maintain lab hygiene, and handle chemicals responsibly.
- Coordinate with senior chemists for scale-up trials and technology transfer activities.
- Contribute to report preparation and documentation as per internal guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Education: M.Sc. in Organic Chemistry
Experience: 1–3 Years
Technical Skills:
- Good knowledge of synthetic organic chemistry techniques.
- Familiarity with purification methods (crystallization, distillation, column chromatography).
- Basic understanding of analytical techniques (TLC, HPLC, GC, NMR, IR).
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and data integrity.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and contribute to process development activities.
