Role Overview:
Scimplify is seeking to hire a Sourcing Manager to lead and manage all direct purchases across the Value Chain and Pharma Business Units, covering both trading and manufacturing operations. The role will be responsible for supplier sourcing, cost optimization, contract negotiations, supply continuity, and strategic vendor development aligned with Scimplify’s growth plans.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop domestic and international suppliers for both trading and manufacturing requirements.
- Lead commercial negotiations on pricing, payment terms, contracts, and long-term agreements.
- Build strong relationships with strategic suppliers to support scale-up, quality, and innovation.
Cost Optimization & Value Creation
- Drive cost reduction initiatives through negotiations, alternate sourcing, localization, and value engineering.
- Monitor market trends, raw material pricing, and supply-demand dynamics to proactively manage costs.
- Support margin improvement initiatives for both trading and manufacturing businesses.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Sales, BD, Operations, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Manufacturing teams to align sourcing plans with customer and production requirements.
- Support new product introductions (NPIs) by identifying capable suppliers and ensuring timely availability.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulatory requirements (especially Pharma BU), and internal procurement policies.
- Maintain proper documentation for contracts, pricing approvals, and vendor assessments.
Data, Reporting & Process Improvement
- Track and analyze procurement KPIs such as cost savings, supplier performance, lead times, and supply risks.
- Improve sourcing processes, systems, and controls to support scalability.
Key Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience in direct material sourcing within chemicals/specialty chemicals/pharma industry.
- Hands-on expertise in trading as well as manufacturing procurement.
- Excellent negotiation, commercial acumen, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of chemical value chains, supplier ecosystems, and cost drivers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
Qualification & Experience
- 4+ years of relevant sourcing/procurement experience in chemicals, specialty chemicals, or pharma.
- Prior experience handling multi-BU sourcing and scaling procurement operations is highly desirable.
