International Sourcing Manager – Chemical Industry
1. Strategic Global Sourcing
- Identify and onboard qualified international suppliers
- Develop alternate sourcing strategies
- Conduct supplier capability & compliance audits
- Build long-term supply contracts
- KPIs: % cost reduction YoY, alternate suppliers approved, dependency reduction
2. Cost Optimization & Commercial Negotiation
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and MOQs
- Track raw material trends and benchmark suppliers
- Analyze freight, duty, and anti-dumping implications
- KPIs: Landed cost savings %, credit days improvement, freight cost reduction
3. Supplier Development & Relationship Management
- Quarterly supplier performance reviews
- Resolve quality & shipment disputes
- Negotiate annual contracts & rebates
- KPIs: Supplier rating score, on-time shipment %, reduction in claims
4. Quality & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure COA, TDS, MSDS documentation
- Verify REACH, RoHS, BIS, and other regulatory compliance
- Ensure correct HS classification & documentation
- KPIs: Zero non-compliance shipments, reduced rejections
5. Risk Management & Supply Continuity
- Monitor geopolitical & trade risks
- Maintain safety stock planning
- Dual sourcing for critical chemicals
- KPIs: Zero stock-outs, improved inventory turnover
6. Logistics & Import Operations Coordination
- Coordinate with CHA and freight forwarders
- Optimize shipping modes (FCL/LCL/Bulk)
- Monitor demurrage & detention
- KPIs: On-time delivery %, reduced demurrage cost
7. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Track global price trends and plant capacities
- Share monthly sourcing intelligence reports
- Identify arbitrage opportunities
- KPIs: Forecast accuracy %, cost-saving opportunities identified
8. Internal Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Align sourcing with sales forecasts
- Coordinate with finance for LC & forex
- Support technical approvals for new products
