About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Leader to drive growth for Scimplify’s Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) business. The role will focus on building strategic partnerships with global customers across pharma, agrochemicals, and other specialty chemicals, , while expanding Scimplify’s contract research and manufacturing capabilities.
This role requires a professional with strong industry networks, deep understanding of the CDMO ecosystem, and the ability to lead complex deal cycles from opportunity identification to commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in CDMO services across pharma, agrochemical, and specialty chemical sectors.
- Build and manage relationships with global clients seeking custom synthesis, process development, and contract manufacturing solutions.
- Develop strategic account plans and drive revenue growth from both new and existing clients.
- Lead end-to-end sales cycles including opportunity identification, technical discussions, proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.
Client & Partner Engagement
- Engage with R&D, procurement, and technical teams of client organizations to understand project requirements.
- Position Scimplify’s CDMO capabilities for complex molecule development, scale-up, and commercialization.
- Build partnerships with international distributors, innovators, and technology companies.
Market Intelligence
- Track industry trends in CDMO across pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and specialty chemicals.
- Identify emerging molecules, patent expiries, and outsourcing opportunities.
- Provide market insights to leadership for strategic growth initiatives.
Internal Collaboration
- Work closely with internal R&D, technical, and manufacturing teams to evaluate project feasibility.
- Coordinate with project management and operations teams to ensure smooth execution of client projects.
- Support leadership in developing long-term CDMO strategy and pipeline.
Key Requirements
- Experience: 10–18 years in Business Development / Commercial roles within CDMO, CRAMS, pharmaceutical intermediates, agrochemicals, or specialty chemicals.
- Strong network with global pharma, biotech, agrochemical, and specialty chemical companies.
- Proven track record of closing custom manufacturing or CDMO deals.
- Strong understanding of custom synthesis, process scale-up, and contract manufacturing models.
- Experience working with cross-functional technical teams.
- Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and strategic thinking skills.
