Business Development Manager – Industrial Chemicals & Polymers

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and results-oriented Business Development Manager to drive sales growth and market expansion for our Industrial Chemicals and Polymer portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in polymer sales, business development, technical customer engagement, and market analysis within the chemical industry. This role requires a blend of commercial acumen and technical understanding to identify opportunities, develop customer relationships, and deliver innovative polymer solutions across diverse industrial segments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive business development and sales growth by identifying new customers, developing strategic accounts, and expanding market presence within the industrial chemicals and petrochemical sectors.
  • Manage the end-to-end sales process, including lead generation, customer acquisition, forecasting, pipeline management, negotiations, order closures, and post-sales relationship management.
  • Achieve revenue, profitability, and market share targets through effective territory management and execution of sales strategies.
  • Identify and evaluate innovative polymer and chemical solutions aligned with customer requirements, enhancing product offerings while strengthening supplier and principal relationships.
  • Provide technical support to customers through product recommendations, formulation guidance, application development, and execution of product trials to validate performance and suitability.
  • Develop a strong understanding of customer manufacturing processes and recommend value-added polymer solutions to improve product performance and operational efficiency.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, pricing movements, and emerging applications within the polymer industry, and generate actionable market intelligence reports to support strategic business decisions and margin improvement.
  • Collaborate closely with technical, sourcing, product management, and operations teams to deliver customized solutions and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, procurement teams, R&D personnel, and production managers across customer organizations.
  • Participate in industry exhibitions, technical seminars, and networking events to promote the company’s product portfolio and identify new business opportunities.


Candidates should have experience developing business across one or more of the following

  • Polypropylene Compounding
  • Polyolefin Packaging
  • Adhesives
  • Wire & Cable
  • Injection Molding
  • PVC Compounding
  • Automotive Components
  • Non-Automotive Industrial Applications
  • Consumer and Industrial Manufacturing

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • MBA in Sales/Marketing is preferred.
  • 6–7 years of experience in Business Development, Technical Sales, within the Chemical, Polymer, or Petrochemical industry.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and developing new business opportunities.
  • Strong technical understanding of polymers and their industrial applications.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to travel as required for customer meetings and business development activities.
Location - Bangalore or Chennai
Total Experience - 6-7 years
