Responsibilities

As our News Editor, you'll be responsible for handling news coverage, potentially including topics like corporate earnings, dividends, M&A, corporate events, C-Suite changes, regulatory matters, economic data, Wall Street analysts, market movements, and macro events that could impact individual stocks or financial markets in general.

In this position, you'll monitor financial news services like corporate press releases, RSS feeds, Twitter, and any other potential sources for major business news. You’ll also report and interpret insights provided by analysts and high-profile investors to provide our subscribers with insightful commentary.

We’re especially interested in candidates who can go beyond the headline numbers to dig out critical insights and provide the context necessary to provide a deeper understanding of potential investment opportunities.

  • The ability to multitask among multiple tasks, including monitoring news sources, and writing short-form and long-form news updates (as needed), while prioritizing and coordinating with fellow team members when needed.
  • Comfort with discussing the details of financial statements, SEC filings, earnings, and broad financial topics.
  • Ability to learn quickly and dive into new challenges.

Working terms:

  • Weekend coverage - Will require availability on Saturday and Sunday.
  • Remote work in the US.

The applicable salary range for this position is $70,000/yr to $80,000/yr which depends on a variety of factors including relevant experience, location, business needs, and market demand.
